Ive just read info on the DLRP magic site which states that holders of Dream annual passes will be entitled to use EMH which will replace being able to access fantasyland 1 hr prior to opening time.

Making the idea of an annual pass even more appealing

:cheer2: :cheer2:

That has made me a very happy bunny. Thanks for that:thumbsup2

... as if I needed another excuse to purchase Dream Passports rather than Fantasy :rotfl:

I assume that this will apply even if you are staying in a non-Disney hotel?

Yes. It has made my day. We have been Dream pass holders for 2 years and always stayed at the Explorers and used the hour in Fantasyland. I was in two minds if I would change to a Disney hotel to get into the parks early but now I dont have to

That's great news for you Jackie :goodvibes

Great news for dream AP holders! :yay: Unfortunately we only have fantasy passes which expire at the end of May - I don't suppose we can upgrade for our visit in April!! :rotfl2:

Hi,

I am hoping that someone out there can help me with the Annual Passes thing.

We have just come back from our first trip, and loved it so much we are looking to go again, definately before April next year, and possibly in November. Can anyone tell me at which point does it become financially better to buy annual passes as opposed to day passes included with the package. I am very confused!

Also, excuse my ignorance and stupidity, does this thread basically mean an annual pass allows access to the park 1hr earlier than the official opening times every day?

thanks

G1W

The breakpoint is normally going more than one in a year or if your stay is beyond 3 days. It will depend on the hotel you stay in and what our discounts you take advantage of so it is always worthwhile doing the maths :goodvibes

A dream annual passport has traditionally allowed you into the park 1 hour earlier than normal passport tickets. But with EMH on-site guest are able to get into the park 2 hours earlier. So this is a double bonus for Dream passport holders only :)

Thanks for the info.

we went for 5 days/4 nights and despite all my planning I didn't even look into AP. I guess I did not know how much we loved it and how soon we want to visit again. Other visite will probably only be 2 nighters so AP may not be worthwhile.

Thanks

It depends on how many AP's you buy. Because we bought 5 APs we got a 20% discount on fantasy passes. Car parking is included in the AP price. This made it cheaper to buy the APs than to buy 3 day tickets.

I had actually bought the 3 day tickets from our holiday company in advance before finding out about APs on boards like this. When we got to the parks I was very happy that they agreed to let us upgrade to APs.

This means we get to go again this Easter.

Did they refund the price of the full 3 days?

Info Ive read seems to suggest we would only get 1 day refunded.

We are in the same position that we bought the package and then started looking into annual passes. We are thinking of going again in Summer for a few days so if we could upgrade to annuals now that would make it more worth while.
We are currently doing sums   :headache: to try and work out most cost effective way

One thing we are looking at is just upgrading one ticket this trip so if we did lose out it wouldnt be as much. The advantage of this would be the discounts in shops and restaurants. (We dont need it for early entry as we are staying on site anyhow.) I think if we did this I worked out we would need to save about E75 before breaking even.:headache: :headache:

They refunded the price for three full days. We only had to pay a few euros extra for the APs.

It was a bit of a palava and for a while I was not sure they were going to allow it. The 3 day tickets were originally bought through the holiday company when I booked the holdiay. I phoned disney before we went to see if I could change them when I got there. They said yes. When we turned up we went to the normal ticket office and told them this, they sent us to another customer relations place on the right hand side of the entrance where we queued again. The customer relations people phoned AP office and eventually sent us into the park and directly to AP office where we did the swap. I think the fact that we declared our intentions before using the tickets at all helped. In addition to cheaper tickets the children also got a lovely birthday present gift each. They were thrilled. :yay: :yay: :yay:

In the brochure I think they advertise 3, 4, and even 5 day tickets even though AP is cheaper when you add the cost of parking.

It seems as though you struck lucky with this.
We have contacted Disney this week to see if we could exchange our 3 day passes for annual passes. they agreed to look into it for us but phoned back today to say it is not possible.:sad1:
So its back to square 1 as to whether we exchange all passes when we get there and lose out, exchange one ticket only so we dont lose out as much and just use this ticket for discounts. Or wait until we go again in summer (not yet booked)and get APs then. :headache:
