Will the Disney Table service restaurants allow you to take uneaten food back to your room in a take out box? For example, if we are on the dining plan and are too full for dessert, could we get a dessert packaged to take back to our room to eat later, or the next day? Or an uneaten child's meal, for example.

Most of the Disney restaurants don't have doggy bags/boxes, no. Disney Springs often do.

I guess if you want to have to carry it around you could.

I've done this plenty of times! With the dining plan, I'm often too full to eat dessert, so I'd have it boxed up to go, put it in the fridge overnight and have it for breakfast the next day. :thumbsup2

We were able to get leftovers boxed up at many table service restaurants. If you are too full for dessert they can be boxed up, but your choices may be limited because some (e.g. ice cream desserts) will not travel well. Most restaurants did not have cutlery or bags for carrying the food. You will not be able to take leftovers at buffets or all you care to eat family style restaurants.

When we ate at DRT for my birthday, they brought out a birthday cupcake, but I was full and they were able to bring me a large styrofoam tray for me to take it back. They packaging would have been better for general leftovers, the cake didn't fit too well, but it was better than nothing.

But they are more for leftovers I think than for serving, you might need to have dessert plated on china in the kitchen and then transfer it yourself. Then ask in a retail store for a carrier bag.

We sometimes take our desserts back to the room with us. TS restaurants have never refused to package a leftover up, but we do think about that first because if it would taste lousy cold, we just leave it behind.

I've been offered these on occasion, so yes, you can. Don't try it at a buffet, for obvious reason.

Be Our Guest has them for breakfast and lunch. We took the pastries from breakfast with us and snacked on them later that morning.

I've gotten to go orders from Tangierine Cafe in Morocco & took it back to the Boardwalk Inn where we were staying.

I'm sure you won't have any issues getting a doggie bag!

We bring quart size freezer bags with us just in case we need an easily storable food container.

ROFLOL, I read the title as I FOUND extra food in my take home box

Yep. Me too. And I pictured myself with a huge delimma holding the box in my hands the next day deciding if I was going to actually eat other peoples food. I think I decided I MIGHT if it looked really good. Sad, that wasn't the thread because I wanted to see if there were others as pathetic as me.

A couple of years ago we had enough leftovers with us for the first day of meals as we stopped to camp on our way back home.

Chefs de France and BOG will give you to go boxes. As for what will you do with them? We only take food if our next stop is the resort. Then we put them in the fridge and eat them for breakfast/lunch/late night snack.

I know you already got your answer, but I wanted to add the servers used to try to get us to take the desserts back to our resort all the time. They would say it is included, don't lose out. But my hubby is VERY particular about food not being refrigerated, so we didn't unless we were heading right back to resort. But they definitely do have doggy bags. ;)
