Extra Early AM Coffee ???

We'll be arriving at the YC in just a few days and DH asked me his first question about the hotel. And despite all the research I've done I couldn't answer it. He makes fun of me being on here all the time but he asked me to see if anyone out here knew the answer to his question. (because he does realize the importance of all the very knowledgeable people on the DIS and how much I've learned )

I know there's a coffee maker in the room, but he likes to get up extra early when on vacation and doesn't want to disturb the rest of the family when he gets up. He was wondering if there is anywhere near the resort that he can go get a coffee? He usually gets up around o dark hundred (actually about 5:30 AM or so). Is there anywhere at the YC or BC or BWI that he can walk to get coffee at that hour? We will have our car so if there is nothing in the resort area that's open where can he drive to to get coffee? Will he have to leave the world or can he get some somewhere on property at another resort or DTD or ??? Someone told me there's a dunkin donuts in the area just outside the property. Is that correct? If this is his only option how would he get there from the YC?

I am an early riser and always have to wait til about 6:30 - 7 to get that first cup of coffee at the resorts. I have not stayed at YC, but at the BC and don't remember every finding anything open before then. I usually make the short drive to dunkin donuts for coffe, and of course since I am there I grab a few donuts too.


Here's a bump to see if anyone else knows better then I.

The closest place I could think of would be the Picabu Cafe in Dolphin hotel. It serves Starbuck coffee 24 hours. Dolphin is only a 10 mins walk from BC.

The small little "lounge" in the YC (Ale and Compass) is open super early for coffee, fruit, and danish/bagels. Ask when you check in, or at the concierge, exactly what time it opens, but I too am the early rising coffee drinker in the family and this was always open early when I ventured out.

The CS place(don't remember the name) at the BC (if he doesn't mind the walk), had free coffee before 7:00am when I was there 2 years ago(don't know if it is still free).

We stayed concierge at YC in Oct 2007 and they had coffee outside the lounge before 7am as that didn't open till then but I'm not sure what time it was put out. It must have been early as coming from the UK we were up very, very early for a few mornings and it was always out. They had an area in the lobby serving some breakfast items but not sure what time they are put out. Best thing to do is ask when you check in. Have a wonderful trip its a lovely resort.

Unfortunately no concierge for us. We were only able to afford YC because of the 4/3 deal.

Thank you for all of the great responses. Good to know he doesn't have to get in the car. After the long drive down we're looking forward to taking a break from the car. DH likes to wander in the early AM so I have a feeling he'll be getting to know the area well. It looks like he'll be getting to know the starbucks at the Dolphin very well.

The Ale and Compass Lounge at the Yacht Club opens at 6:00 am.

...there's the big gas station opposite the entrance to the BW. As I remember (believe it or not) they have very good coffee, round the clock.

As an added bonus: they have Krispy Kreme donuts!!
