Extra DME Luggage tags?

We will need a couple of extra luggage tags opposed to the one each they normally send ( 3 of us going just need 1 or 2 extra tags). Should I call now and request this or do I wait until we receive our others. We are 73 days out. I am Assuming we will get our 1 tag each at about 30 days out maybe.

You can call now. I knew I would need 2 per person so I called early, figuring they would just add to the standard order. But they arrived separately anyway.

I would call now. This is always an issue with me as I fly Southwest which gives me 2 free checked bags. I bring an almost empty suitcase so I don't have to worry about buying items as gifts and not having room to pack them.

Just know that if you don't get all of the yellow tags that you want, you can still have DME pick up and deliver your bags.

Just present your airline luggage claim checks at the DME desk when you check in.

This is one of the more common procedures and one of the reasons that they don't send as many tags as they used to.

It may be 'commonplace' but there is no way of knowing when your bag is going to be picked up! That bag could go around and around on the conveyor belt, until there are no more people there. Then it goes to the 'uncollected baggage' area. That's if no one has grabbed it already...someone other than the bag owner that is!! It is my understanding that a CM doesn't go rushing off to collect your bags as soon as you give them the receipts. It could be awhile before they get to the bags.
Much better to call and get addtl tags...especially this far out.

We are 143 days out and got our tags on Monday and also got "the extra ones you requested". But I didn't request extras. Is this normal? Everything looked right on the info & tags.

You could probably call now if you wanted, but it doesn't take long to get extras if you request them after. We got ours about two weeks ago and only had 3, because we are flying Southwest we knew we needed at least 4. We called the same day we got the originals and requested one more. About a week later we got not one, but 3 additional tags. The woman my mom talked to was very accommodating and polite about sending us more!
