I'm taking my niece to WDW and when we were in DL we shared 1 adult meal most of the time. I know from other posts that CS can be changed into snacks. My question is if it's a child's CS credit do they give you less snack items?

At this point CS credits are not broken down into child and adult. We had this at the end of our trip. There isn't a reason to distinguish at that point. The CM simply pointed out the options from the Grab 'n go area that worked for CS meals. I think I used 2-3 credits as we were leaving to catch our ME bus. We either packed or consumed the items.

I will say your niece is a bit older so she may eat more. My nephew really likes the Old Country Buffet (ie. the dessert bar). I've noticed in the last year he eats more when we go, so you may find the same. Also if its something they really like often they will eat. All that said expect to get her a couple of her own meals during your stay.

We are doing an auntie nephew trip over Labor Day weekend! He has no idea we're going and he asked me about Disney just last weekend. There is no way I'm letting a 6yo know 3 months in advance he's going to Disney.

Have a magical time.

We traded in some CS meals for snacks and I think we got three snacks for each CS. Those were adult meals, I'm not sure if it is any different for kids. Even if you only got two snacks for each child's CS trade in that's still a good deal.

We sometimes split meals as well. Sometimes we will split a CS for breakfast and then another for lunch.

Okay, i know that everyone posts that they can get snacks for CS credits-- so my question is where can you do this? We just got home last night from DW and on our last afternoon/evening we tried to use our 3 leftover CS tickets to get snacks to bring on the ride home. At 3 different locations during the afternoon/evening we were told NO, that we couldnt even have 1 snack for a CS credit. Back at the resort (POR) we tried to use them and we were allowed to get 1 beverage and 1 dessert per CS meal--they rang it up as pizza/drink/dessert-- but no luck at all elsewhere. I think maybe you can get something that they can ring up as dessert at a CS location, but anywhere that doesnt have CS meals we were told flat "no" on using the credits. Bummer, i waited all week for my white chocolate peanut butter cup from the confectionary and had to pay cash for it even though I had 3 CS credits left over.

You are getting "snacks" for CS you are getting a CS meal. That meal is made up of things that you can also buy with snack credits. I did this at the Grab 'n Go at our resort; actually the CM noticed we had a few extras and suggested we get some things I think we did things like:

PB&J Uncrustable, milk and apple slices...again you can buy each item with a snack credit, but it was meal for us.

We could have gotten a cheese and fruit tray, bakery item and beverage. Probably could have gotten a frozen treat too, but he had just had those with lunch.

Again the key is it isn't a conversion, its just another version of a CS meal. The only park place I can think would do something like this would be Main Street Bakery which might allow for two bakery items and a drink, but I'm not even sure of that (I know they do that for breakfast).

I was able to get three rice crispy Mickey heads for a CS credit at Roaring Forks in August.

Hmm, so you and I both were able to do this at a RESORT CS rather than a park CS. Hopefully this won't be a need during our next trip, but the nephew loves the Uncrustables and they certainly travel well so it'll be my ace in the hole. ;)
