We are coming over from the UK to get married at WDW so we wont have a local court house. I think I remember sam saying that she managed to get an extra 4 copies, so was just wondering about how she went about it.
I found that only the Social Security Administration required to see an original, so I went and did that in person. I made my own photocopies and the credit card people, drivers license, etc. all accepted that to make the changes to our account.
I know in my case I just requested form to order extra copies and after being married I sent form in with money. I needed CERTIFIED Copies in some cases so I had to get extras.
After your certificate has been filed (after the wedding), it gets notarized and sealed at the courthouse and an official copy will be sent to you at home after the wedding. I did not need an extra copy (photocopies or a look at the original worked for all the places that requested mine). If you do need a copy, you can request them in writing from the courthouse where you got the license (the one we used in Osceola county FL. charged $2 each at the time we were married). They told us to send in a self-addressed/stamped envelope along with our request and payment and they'd get the copies out within a couple days.
Try going to vitalstatistics.com (maybe .org - not sure which). I ordered extra copies of my marraige license (from Maryland) and my birth certificate (from Michigan). They have other states as well, and might have Florida.
Lisa - the courthouse will give you a form with the licence that you give to the Rev on the day of your marriange he then signs it after you get wed and then sends it back to the courthouse - there should be a slot to fill in how many copies you want - we asked for 4 extra copies and gave the money for these copies to Rev Jack.
HTH - can't believe how close we are now to your wedding sweetie
We arrived back last Weds after getting married in Orlando at Cypress Grove (we are also from the UK).
We were told by our wedding co-ordinator that there would be a form in the envelope that would enable us to request extra copies of the licence.
We went to the courthouse the day before our wedding to get the licence but there was no form enclosed.
On the day of the wedding we asked the notary for additional copies, so we just scribbed out on a piece of paper our request for 4 extra copies (at $2.50 per copy) so just gave her $10.
We got married on the 13th Oct, and was told the licences wouldnt reach us in the UK until about 6-8 weeks, so hopefully we'll get our licences just before you depart and I'll let you know if we got all the copies we asked for.
