Extra bedding?

I will be going to WDW next year and using friend's points for my trip. We are staying in the Boardwalk Villas with 5 total in the one bedroom. I am sure we will need an extra air bed for one of the teens. Any good suggestions on how to get one there? We are flying.

Also the youngest is too young for a bed and too big for those pack n plays. Any good suggestions on how to deal with that? The youngest just cannot sleep on one of those anymore.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

If you can't take an air mattress on the plane due to size I would just mail it. They will not provide a any alternative bedding.

You could put the youngest on the air mattress so falling off is not an issue.

They do provide bed rails but I don't know if they work well with the fold out couch.

The youngest won't know how to stay on a matress and would just wander around the room (will be around 2). Not safe at all. The air mattress is solely for the other teen as two won't fit on a bed together.

Has anyone shipped an air mattress? Or is there a good place to buy one along the way with a limo?

Also has anyone been able to get a real crib for a toddler? I don't mind bringing extra bedding for the little one. I do that anyway.

I have not done this myself, but I've been reading up for our trip next year, as my grand-daughter will be just over a year old. Alot of people rent a regular size crib from A Babys Best Friend, here is a link to their website

With the airbed and the regular crib, you are going to be rather tight in the one bedroom.

Remember, too, that DVC will not provide the pillows, sheets, towels and blankets for the fifth person. You'll need to provide your own.

The youngest may be in the room with us. I wouldn't want two teens keeping the little one up. And as I said, I always bring bedding for our youngest anyway so that isn't an issue. I've been in a 1 bedroom before so I know we'll be fine.

Thank you to the PP. Kind of expensive but always something I can think about doing if need be. I just want the little one

Any other options people have done?

As far as the air mattress, maybe you could order one directly from Amazon (or other company) about 2 weeks prior to your trip and have it shipped directly to the resort, using free shipping. Be sure to include your name & arrival date on the shipping info.

We have a rolling duffle bag that we pack with the airbed and extra bedding when we travel. Since we travel SW there is no extra charge for the additional bag. It would be worth the extra charge to do it that way if you are traveling some other airline as you would not have to worry about getting one once you are there. The bag we have has a separate zippered bottom compartment so on shorter trips that is where the airbed and fleece blanket went and son's clothes fit in the upper compartment. If you get one without it's own pump you will need to bring a pump or blow it up the old fashioned way as the vacuum cleaners are uprights and are no good for airbeds or space bags. You might contact the resort directly and ask if they have any cribs available ( at OKW they do have some that are the metal type and larger than a porta crib available on a first come first served basis I think)

You might use one of the child sized airbeds in the closet in the MB and get bed rails to put on the side that would be nearest the door to the closet if you want to have the door open. I think bed rails are available if you ask mousekeeping or request them on the reservation.

As a last resort you could put the littlest one in the king bed with you.

We bought this airbed for my son when he was 2. He did really well on it, it gives the extra security of having the safety cushion all the way around. I just filled it with his blankets and his pillow from home and he did great! My son has autism and I was really concerned about how he'd do in a hotel room but we had no trouble at all!

Good luck.

Thanks all for the ideas! I like that aerobed and would be great later on but he's a climber which is why I wanted the security of a crib. I have a feeling I will just have to pay for it. I wish they had real cribs available like other hotels do. Pack n plays just are not suitable for young ones.

Can't do the sleeping in our bed either. Both of them kick me and I would wind up on the floor myself while worrying about my little one trying to dive out of bed.

But these are all giving me thoughts on how to do it with the youngest. Hopefully this will be the last trip I have to worry about it.

Thank you also for the good ideas on the mattress. I will have to look it all over and see which is best cost wise for us.

Even though an airbed won't work for you for this trip, just to let you know for the future, I take my airbed to WDW all the time. A twin sized airbed (I have the aerobed brand that comes with the electric pump) fits into my large, rolling duffle. I also put in the sheets, a blanket and have room for a few more odds and ends. I have also put it in a standard sized large suitcase (not the giant one, just a large one).

I can't remember how much my aerobed costs, but I have a second air bed that I got at Wal Mart. Its a Coleman brand and I also purchased a battery operated pump to blow it up. The bed and pump together were under $30.

I have taken an airbed to WDW for all ten trips, its sort of a pain but I am used to it now! Its not really that big and heavy and like I said, I even have room to put in other items along with the bed and bedding.

Disney does have cribs other than the pack and plays that are available for free upon request on a first come first serve basis. They are larger than the pack and plays to. They are like those portable cribs. Not as small as the pack and play, but not as big as a regular crib. Our twins slept in them just fine in January. They were 1.5 at the time. You can also get high chairs for free too. All you do is call down to housekeeping when you get into your room and they will bring them to you if they are available.

You can also bring the number for one of the rental companies if one is not available from Disney, but I would take my chances with Disney first.

Thank you! I had been told only pack n plays are available. We will arrive at WDW early in the morning so I will try to ask for one immediately and then call the rental agency if needed.

I had no idea about the high chair either. That would be a bonus for us too.

And thank you all for the other ides.

I will definitely look into the costs of shipping vs taking my own and all the different brands mentioned here. I truly appreciate all the great advice here. It gave me more to think about than I would have come up with on my own!

all rooms should already have the high chair - you will find it in one of the closets
