Can anyone remember a ride in the MK where you spun around in the dark? DM was talking about things they went on during DD and DMs honeymoon and she remembered something like this.
It kinda reminded her of a tilt a whirl and mad tea party.
Thanks to anyone who can remember this ride!!

Could it possibly have been the old Mission to Mars (in the space since occupied by Alien Encounter, and now Stitch's Great Escape)?

maybe hanuted mansion? the ride vechiles are like tilt a whirls. several scenes are in the dark.and the vechiles do spin around and change direction several times in the dark, they do not spin around fast but they do spin around slowly. :confused3

No, it's exticnt and no longer exists. Trust me, my mom knows her Disney rides, and she knows they no longer have it. Thanks for the help so far.

The seats in Mission to Mars didn't move at all.

It could have been in one part of Dreamflight (or the attraction before it, If You Could Fly.) It didn't really spin, but it was darkened and the effects made it feel like you were going fast. Buzz Lightyear is in the spot where Dreamflight had been.

Im afraid she doesn't know them as well as you think. There was never a ride in the MK where you spun around in the dark.

Peter11435 is right. I'm a vet of well over 100 trips to WDW dating back to its earliest days. I've riden everything they've ever had there (except Flight to the Moon - the predecessor to Mission to Mars; and it definitely didn't spin.) I'm sorry to say that nothing really matches that description.

Some possibilities are (like others have said) Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It didn't really spin, but moved quickly with lots of sharp, rapid turns through sets that were, at times, quite dark.

Some iteration of If You Had Wings / If You Could Fly / Take Flight / Dreamflight. This one's not likely because it moved quite slowly (same pace as Buzz Lightyear (obviously)) and didn't spin at all. But, you never know, she might have remembered it differently.

That's really about it for attractions that are no longer there, but could possibly be what she's thinking about.

Sounds like something I once rode at the Miracle Strip in Panama City.

Cheers.

sounds like someone needs to learn a lesson about the imperfect recall of human memory...

There used to be an indoor "tea-cup" type ride at the now extinct park Opryland. It was one of the few air conditioned attractions and I think it had a '50's sock-hop sort of theme.

If she knows her rides that well, then why do we even have this thread.

(sorry, but I couldn't resist :flower: )

I'm thinking she might be thinking of the 'If you had wings' because towards the end (2nd to last room) you went through a tunnel that had stripes of light spinning around you and it did give you the feeling that you might be spinning, and it was dark. The shape of the vehicle was also like a tilt-a-whirl. Could this be it? The carts were slow-moving though...

What about Alice in Wonderland? I'm not sure if it's still around, and I'm not sure if it was (or is) in CA or FL, but it sounds kinda like it.

sounds like you need to rethink something before you say it! Completely rude! I take it personally when someone insults my family, and you had NO reason to say this. My mother remembers a ride like this, it may have been a part of a ride or the actual ride itself, but I want to know how well your memory is from 20 yrs ago. :sad2:
