Extended Trip

Not even close ;-) MK and Epcot alone have more attractions than DLR! DL has 53ish and MK 50ish give or take for current construction and closures. I've seen someone say this before and I do not know where it comes from as it is not even close to accurate.

It's rides. Disney likes to use the word attraction. So Mickey cartoons on Main street are an attraction, but clearly not a ride. There are approximately 55 rides at DLR based on some challenges where people ride every moving attraction at both parks in one day. I think there are 57 rides at WDW, but I don't recall the exact number. It is very close.

Oops! It's 47 moving attractions at WDW. But they don't include 3D shows like Mickey's Phillharmagic either.

Someone posted this video a while back.

In the description he says they rode all 55 rides at the 2 parks completing the DLR55 and a few weeks earlier they did the WDW47.

Thanks for tracking that down; I was wishing you could filter for "rides" on the websites! While the Main Street Cinema Mickey cartoons are actually one of my daughter's favorite things to do (I have to talk her out of stopping there at rope drop :sad2:), they aren't exactly comparable to an E-ticket when people are comparing the parks...

I think the main benefit is the 60 day FP+ window. We also really enjoy EMHs. We also find the transportation really helpful since everything is so spread out.

WDW hotels come with transportation to the parks, extra magic hours, and nice pools. Similar to DLR hotels, but you can stay at a WDW hotel for a lot less.

Recently ive read in WDW TPAS that there are fewer EMH than ever (have been declining last four years) and there is a steadier move to monetizing them. On-site guests now also have to pay nightly parking.

The 60 day FP+ is seemingly the only real benefit left. Because once an off-site guest gets to WDW property (own vehicle, Uber, hotel shuttle) park-to-park transportation is free as well.

ETA pools can be nice!

( to be transparent - we always stay off property in a sprawling 5-bedroom house for $115/night and can get to lots and tapstiles more quickly than many on site guests in value and some mods/deluxes.)

Too bad about EMH. When DH and I went 10 years ago we had morning and night EMH daily.

The 60 day vs 30 day FP bugs me, but there you go. When we finally take the kids to WDW we'll probably use our time share to save money so booking FP will be a pain.

I don’t know what we will do “next time.”
But no one is asking for WDW right now. We are so excited for DLR and the pre/post-road trip.
