I just got the Extended Stay Deluxe (8100 Palm Pkwy) for $32 a night on Hotwire. This is for 5/24-5/31. It has a kitchen and includes continental breakfast. Total for 7 nights is $258.
The price has just gotta make you wonder just how "deluxe" the place is. Sometime you do get what you pay for, and that price doesn't even cover the cost of a good breakfast.
In case anyone is wondering why I visit the off site board.. Although all my Disney vacation stays are on site, I travel to Orlando very often for business. I'm always curious about the area hotels and lodging...
I don't recall ever saying negative things, only that BC was off site (that's not negative).
I have nothing against staying off site, although I personally stay on site.
If I had a bunch of kids, and DVC wasn't an option, I would probably do one of the off site houses.
The $32/night hotel that includes breakfast, just waived a red flag for me.
Of course, as always, I could be wrong. It may be some sort of super special deal..
Maistre Gracey: That is a Hotwire rate..its not the regular rate! Of course you would expect to get a 'good' bargain type price on Hotwire. That is the whole idea. It doesnt mean a place is nasty if you get a good deal on it..
I have yet to read anything positive about this hotel. I was looking to stay off site but I started reading about fleas in the beds and cars having the windows smashed. That was enough for me.
On the plus side...for the amount of money that this is costing the OP I would think that it would be hard to be disappointed. Go in with no expectations and hope for the best.
Extended Stay Deluxe Lake Buena Vista is actually rated #6 in the 2007 Edition of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (under The Top 30 Best Deals). They give it 4 stars for Overall Quality Rating, and an 83 for Room Quality Rating, these are the same ratings given to Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado Springs. It is rated better than Caribbean Beach Resort and all of Disney's value resorts. I did the research and figured out which resort I was getting. I was going to stay at Coronado Springs, but I am saving over $1000 by staying here. I usually stay onsite, but decided to save some money this time. I know that it's not going to be as good as staying onsite (which I think is the greatest), but I really don't think it is that bad of a place. Lot's of people have given it pretty good reviews. It comes up as a Customer's Favorite on Hotwire. I think the regular price for this hotel is about $99 a night, so I think it is a pretty good deal. We got the same deal for early May. We booked 3 nights- I am cautiously optimistic. We will hardly ever be in the room anyway- mainly just to sleep and shower, so even if it isn't great, we should be fine. Location is pretty terrific! Very short commute times to the WDW parks.
I, too, was happy to read the positive review in the UG. I have found them to be pretty right-on with their ratings, so I was not scared to book.
We stayed there in 2005, it wasn't the Grand Floridian, but for the price it was great! The location was hard to beat and the rooms were big and clean.
