Extended Evening Question

So, let's say you are staying at a DVC (or Deluxe) resort and then switch to a moderate on the day that an extended evening takes place. Since it is your check out day at the deluxe are you still eligible for extended evening hours?

Good question, but I think because you are checking into a moderate and not leaving, that is what will show up as your resort and prevent you from using it.

Which seems unfair since if you were simply checking out of the deluxe and staying all day until extended evening I would imagine you'd be able to get in....

When you are there, the Magic band is scanned and will be based on your resort for that night. It would bring up the moderate because that is now your resort.

There may be a way when you go for them to override it, but that would probably need to be discussed with GR when you get there.

I have no first hand knowledge though and have not seen specific accounts of it.

I have not heard of anyone using them who checked out of deluxe either so not sure what has happened with that.

I know this question has come up before, and I believe I've seen posts from people who have been successful. I think both hotels show up in your account all day. You might want to search the Theme Parks board and the Disney Resorts board or post your question there.

Just found the answer on PlanDisney. As long as the extended evening hours START before midnight then you are allowed to enter if it is a check out / in day.

Any other confirmation of this? If you check out of a deluxe hotel and check into a moderate on the day that a deluxe extended evening hours takes place, do both hotels show up in your account or do you need to talk to GR?

I've read multiple posts from guests who moved from deluxe to moderate or value resort and were able to enjoy the deluxe evening hours that night, so somehow it works. None of the reports mentioned having to visit GR or do anything special.
