Extended Car Rental Discounts?

Is there a way to rent cars for longer than a week or two and save money as an extended rental? I've been in Florida for much longer than anticipated taking care of my elderly, ill father. Every time a rental return date is coming up, we learn that another medical procedure is necessary. It's one 8 day rental followed by another, for weeks now! Very expensive!! I will still need a rental for at least a few more weeks. Is there some way to rent a car by the month? Or at least a way to get some kind of quantity/length discount?

Thanks so much for any advice!

I'd suggest contacting the company you've been renting from and explaining the situation. Maybe they can adjust your rate/terms considering the circumstances.

I recently was looking at Sixt and noticed they do monthly rentals. Goodluck finding something.
Eta- not exactly rental, it’s a subscription that can be cancelled anytime. Might not be what you’re looking for but it could be a starting point on price comparisons.

Enterprise has long term car rentals. But I just looked and the price of a monthly rental is $1700 for MCO from Mar 27 till April 27. The biggest problem right now is that you are renting a car during the peak spring break and prices are sky high for cars now.

Rentals in Florida are hard to come by right now. Car companies sold off a huge chunk of their fleets last year to raise cash and now with travel way up in Orlando for spring break, there is a big shortage.
Sub compacts for $300 a day! Hopefully your trip is next month or later.

??? I don't have a trip planned. I was replying to the OP who currently has a rental car and wants to extend the rental for a few more weeks but he was looking for a way to get a discount.
