Express Transportation ending already - That stinks!

Just when we planned our 4 parks in one day trip and planned to weigh heavily on the Express Transportation buses, they announced that the service is coming to an end. Obviously they're responding to customer demand.

I'm not surprised. The times I used it there was never more than 10 people on the bus. Many times I was the only person on the bus (January & May)

I agree! I was really looking forward to using the service next month! I know lots of people said it was a money-grab, but hey, one can choose to use the free bus system. And one could choose to pay a premium for better, faster, park access. I wonder if the Minnie Vans did them in?

I am bummed. I was planning to use this in October. Now what to do? What is going to be the best hopping option? Rental car? Disney Busses? Minnie Vans?

I assume it's 1) cause they'd make more $ charging per trip on a Minnie Van then a set daily price for express 2) since attendance is apparently down they are cutting back bus driver so hours

No, attendance is not down and they are hiring bus drivers. In fact, the bus driving position is just one of ten positions where Disney is paying CMs $500 for every referral. That's double what they usually pay.

I loved the service, but understand that it couldn't continue with nearly empty buses. What I don't understand is how they couldn't find a successful marketing angle for it.

I loved the service, but understand that it couldn't continue with nearly empty buses. What I don't understand is how they couldn't find a successful marketing angle for it.

For a family, $29 a person is a lot. They increased the price to try to make it profitable but that probably just turned away more people.

Because of the way the service was facilitated using regular buses and way too many GR CMs, plus for whatever reason, not enough interest, the expenses out weighed the income. Use vans and get rid of the GR CMs.

I am so disappointed because we had planned to use this quite often during our November trip. We like to park hop and this would have been perfect because of saving us time going through security again. Oh well, we will get by!!!

I'm sad to see it is going away. During the hot days of my recent trip I really enjoyed using it. Really saved a lot of time. But like many others have said, there were never more than 5 of us at a time on the bus. I still think most people didn't even know about it! Oh well! Glad I got to try it out.

Minnie Vans could provide park-to-park transportation using the exact same routes and stops as the bus did.
