Express Pass Question

Hi, I am new to the Express Pass/US world as a frequent WDW guest. We were given 4 express passes with our package. We have 7 people going but 2-3 are not heavy coaster/rides kids. Can the express pass be passed around or is it attached to your park ticket? At the moment we are NOT staying at one of the 3 Hotels that have express pass.

You cannot pass it around. Your photo is taken the first time you use it and then your photo is taken and compared digitally at each ride to verify the same user.
