Express Pass prices go up as dates near?

Does the price of express pass increase as the dates get closer? Months & weeks ago our dates (April 10-15) were mostly showing as $19.99 and now thay are level 3. I'm hoping it's just like rentals cars and hotel prices, that they go up in price as they become "last minute" purchases. Hoping it's not due to expected crowds they just found out about!

If all of a sudden they realize that the crowds seem to be higher than they anticipated, they relook at their predictions and adjust the rates.

I think March Break had much bigger crowds than they thought, so they have adjusted April rates.

they can also extend the park hours depending on the crowds.
