Express pass confusion

Hi.

Looking to take my son following our cruise in March to universal and get APs. Was looking at staying at CB but getting one night at HRH for the express pass for two days. Can we stay at CB for say 5 days continually and do a single night check in (without checking out from CB) in the middle?

basically having two hotel rooms in my name?

Yep, we did exactly that - although with one night at Portofino - last May - worked like a charm...my husband wasn't feeling very well so we didn't feel like spending the night at PBH - just stayed at Cabana Bay & popped over to PBH to pick up the room keys/express passes.
