Express pass and the heat

We will be there at the beginning of September after Labor day. I suspect crowds will be low so I'm weighing the advantage of the express pass. I like the idea of staying onsite for an afternoon rest to beat the heat also.

If the crowds are low is the express pass worth it when it really hot out? Are most of the line queues outside? I don't mind waiting a little bit if the line queues are inside and cool.

If you can afford staying onsite, the do so! I go every year at the end of September and the weather is pretty hot.
Outside queues that I can think of that bothered me with the heat included The Simpsons and Rip Ride Rock It (both of these even with Express Pass).

Forbidden Journey has an area of the queue outside and the rest inside. Spiderman, Men in Black, The Mummy are all indoors.
Express Pass is not needed but I adore skipping the short wait with the unlimited express pass (staying onsite).
Just remember, if you stay off property you will have to worry about getting to the park, paying for parking, cab, or whatever.
I've stayed onsite for several years now, and as long as I can afford it, will do so.

Cheers!

Staying on site is the only way to go for us:
1-We love HRH and the ability to walk 2-3 min to US. We take a mid-day break/swim/nap everyday and the ease of getting to our hotel is very important to us.
2-HRH has great atmosphere, my teens love the pool. The rooms are nice and big.
3-My AP pass has gotten me great discounts on our rooms and tickets
4-Early entry into WWoHP has been amazing. We can get so much done in one hour prior to the public coming in.
5-Unlimited express pass is an amazing perk to staying on-site. Even when crowds were lower, we used our pass a lot. So many rides and shows have an EP entrance, we rarely waited for anything.

The heat and humidity is crazy intense. Sept is still going to be very hot and humid in Florida.

September is very hot and very humid and honestly , we went in Jan 2012 and it was some of the lowest crowds of the year and we STILL stayed onsite and got great use out of the express pass.It allowed us to get done everything, some things multiple times and still gave us down time at Citywalk and the resort..Worth every penny

Do you think 4 days at the parks with express passes is "too much" for an adult and 12 year old who have never been (and who enjoy thrill rides)? We want to be able to enjoy everything (and I'm sure some things multiple times), but we don't want to find we run out of things to do by day three...

mid september has low crowds in the parks.
ride waits are low.

i still would stay onsite.

it's a total vacation and not just a time period to go to the parks for rides.

when i hit orlando for my vacations, it is relaxing, totally fun and well worth the money to stay on site for the complete immersion of what the darkside really is.
