When we get to the hotel can I request that I have express checkout but No charging privlages as I intend to pay cash for everything? Are you charged for using express checkout? I have no intention of using my credit card at all and dont want to be charged. If I choose to checkout myself what time can I do so if our Magical express pickup time will be 8:30 am. What do I bring with me to check out as far as documentation as I have never done it. Ok one more If I pay cash for a item can I still get it shipped to the hotel for free? thanks for your help.

I believe it's standard practice to have a credit card imprint while staying at any hotel. There is express checkout and there is no charge. While at the BCV, we will receive our bill on our door very early in the morning (we head out to the airports around 5am). To make sure there's no issues, the night before we are leaving, I'll get a copy of our bill to make sure everything is right.

As long as the room/tax or package (however you have your reservation set up) is paid in full, which the require at check in anyway, you do not have to leave a CC imprint. You can decline and have no charging on the ID cards. It is your choice, they will not require a CC at check in...they will ask, but you can decline!

If you are not charging anything to your room account you really don't need express check out, since there won't be a bill. Express check out really is just so you don't have to come to the desk to settle your account. As long as your account is at a zero balance you would not need to go to the desk anyway. You can just call housekeeping and let them know that you have vacated the room... It will automatically check out of the system at 11am anyway!

If you want to go down to the desk and get a final receipt you can do so at anytime really. Again if you are not adding to the hotel account the bill won't change. You can stop by the night before and get the reciept and then just leave in the AM. If you want to stop down the morning you leave you can again at anytime, the front desk is 24 hours, but keep in mind any earlier than 6am they might not have their computers up, as they do go down every night to close out the day and upload new reservations.

As for hotel deliveries... Yes you can still have your packages delivered to your hotel. Even if you are paying cash or putting them on an actual CC, it doesn't matter, as a guest of the hotel the service is provided to you!

Have fun on your trip!

Thanks you made everything clear And now its back to counting down the days LOL. :cool1:

Our last two visits were on packages, so were prepaid. We did not have charging privileges. At the end of our stay we just left. There was no bill and nothing to do but leave the room.

If this is a concern I would simply call Disney to confirm. I have travelled extensively and never found this to be the case, even when I've prepaid with Orbitz, Travelocity or the like. You intend to pay cash for everything w/o charging privledges, but the hotel needs a just in case option. (kids order movie, someone makes a call, etc.)

Enjoy your bill free holiday!

On our last two trips, we did not want charging privileges on our room key either so we were told we could not use express check out. They said that there was no need to check out if there were no charges to the room that need to be paid. They leave you a bill on your door during the last night you are there. If there are charges, you need to check out at the front desk.

Even if you have fully paid your packages, there could be charges to your room. We had to pay a few dollars for making some phone calls from our room last time.

Disney does not require a CC imprint! If you choose to not have charging privledges to your room account you do not have to leave a credit card number with them... it is your choice. You CAN be on a cash basis with the hotel, you just have to have your room and tax/Package paid in full upon check in. Disney does not have pay per view movies and room service gets a list of all the roooms that are on a cash basis so they know you can not charge to the room. The only potential charges would be phone calls made from the room. If for some reason you need to use the phone, the front desk will leave you a voice mail to let you know that you need to make a payment to the account.

I'm surprised Disney does not require a CC imprint at least. It is an industry standard. A good case in point is when there is damage done to a room, then the hotel/resort has at least some means of recouping the $$ spent on repairing the damages. I know, I know, NO ONE that goes to WDW would ever do anything like that!

That is a very good point, but it is so rare to have people destroy the rooms. In eleven years with Disney working in 4 different hotels, I have seen 3 rooms damaged. Yes 3 is too many, but it is actually a very low number given the amount of time I have worked there.

As was mentioned we do not require a credit card on the reservation. You can leave it on a cash basis. If you do use the phone or internet connection, anything like that the back office cast will leave a voice mail telling you you are over the credit limit and need to make a payment. As long as there are no additional charges, such as the phone, you can just leave on the day of check out, there is no reason to come down to the desk. Zero balance will automatically check out when we process due outs at 11am.

I thought that as long as you gave them a credit card for room charges, that those charges would automatically be transferred to your credit card, a statement would be at your door the morning of your departure, and there was no need to physically have to "check out" at the front desk. Am I wrong?

Yes and no... .If you leave a CC imprint it automatically flags express check out. The morning of your departure you will have the bill on (or under depending on the hotel) your door. If that bill is correct there is no need for you to stop by the desk, that is your receipt and you are free to go. If there is something wrong then you would need to stop by the desk.

You also have the choice to opt out of express check out. Some people are just more comfortable going to the desk to check out, or not having the bil hanging on the door. In this case when you check in, if you leave a CC imprint you must tell them that you do not want and XCO so that they can change the default to no.

If you are on a cash basis they will not deliver an XCO to your room, cash defaults to no XCO. As I mentioned before if you did not make any charges (phone or otherwise) there is no need to go to the desk when you are on a cash basis as the balance is zero anyway. If you did make some small charges by using the phone or something they will call and let you know that you need to make a payment.

Not to be redundit- but I just want to make sure i get it.

If you leave your CC on file with the resort AND you have charging privileges on your room key- those charges will be charged to you CC and you can use express check out. Is this correct?

I also understand that at anytime during your stay you can request a printout of your charges- right??? Thanks

Yes and yes... it automatically defaults to express check out if you leave a CC imprint. If you do not want it you must tell them so they can change the default. At anytime during your stay you can request a print out of your charges so you can look over them and at anytime you can make a payment to your account if you wish to!
