Background myself and 20 year old son going to parks August 7-10
Plan on park hopping
Staying at Contemporary tower
Will have rental car

Plan on walking to MK
Thinking express bus might be easier than driving rental car
Any input?

One positive is that you basically get picked up inside one park and dropped inside the other. So that means you only go through security at the first park. No having to wait in line again at security at the second park.

It really depends on how much you value your time. I would guess you save about 30 minutes per park hop.

I used it for the first time in late March. It was the very best thing about my trip...well, other than seeing my dd!! For $30 a week, I only have to go through bag check and the tap in at one park!!! I love getting dropped off inside each park! For me, it's a no brainer. Now....I'm traveling with my dh and another couple right after Thanksgiving. I highly doubt they're going to think it's worthwhile. My dh would pay for it, but not this other couple. They're not familiar with WDW, only DL. So, I'm not sure they understand the time involved.

If there are no storms in the area, it's great. I wish they could/would figure out something with the rain issue. But it's worth the money. You need to pay attention to timing, but I'd rather sit on a bench and wait 20 min, than stand waiting for who knows how long for bus/boat/monorail. We tend to go bagless, so security isn't that much of an issue, but just saving the steps from inside park to gate to bus to gate to inside park means a lot to us.

I am familiar with WDW, and would never pay for express transportation if I had a rental car. Driving makes park hopping easy to us. We have not found security lines to be long for the park we have hopped to, after the morning rush.

Now that I think about it a bit more, I probably wouldn't pay for express in any situation.

If there are storms in the area (within so many miles) the service stops or if you are en route, they drop you off outside the gate by the reg. buses. I have not seen this myself, the humongous express bus thread have mentioned this many times.
