I was wondering if anyone has read any articles about the possibility of getting exposed to Covid while on their Disney trips in December 2019? Has Disney revealed whether there were visitors/how many? from Wuhan in the parks in December? I've read several news articles stating that it is now believed that the true start date for Covid was back in early November in Wuhan. I'm asking all these questions because we were at WDW December 13-19, 2019 and on the way home I came down with something that fits the bill for Covid. It was truly awful, but it wasn't the flu. I had fever, diarrhea, body aches, sore throat, and then a really bad lingering cough. It took almost 2 1/2 weeks before I felt normal again. It's pure speculation on my part and just curiosity. My 9 year old son got a much milder version of what I had one day before me. My husband and kids didn't get sick at all. I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I often wondered if the virus was around before it was more known... But I can only speak about my December 2019 experience. I stayed at POP the 2nd week of December and on the 2nd to last day of our trip, I started feeling sick with sore throat, fever, body aches, head aches etc. Stayed in bed all day on the last day of our trip and flew home. For the next two 1/2 weeks I was out of commission and never been sick like that before. Turned into an awful cough and lung infection but I am fine now. I'm not saying it was something other than the flu but I've had the flu before and it was never that bad.

I've wondered the same thing. My DD18 and I went January 5-10. Right after we got home, she went back to college. She got really sick and was first diagnosed with upper respiratory infection and then the flu (but no flu test was done, dr just made the assumption based on symptoms). She and I both think now there's a good possibility it was Covid-19. She was sick for over a month.

We won't know until anti-body tests are done on more people, but it was probably just the flu. I got sick while there at Christmas and my wife got sick after we returned and hers was far worse. We've talked to a lot of people that were sick who were there at the same time. We'll know at some point in the near future.
