We're thinking of touring Aulani models at DLR in 2 weeks. The guide said that he'll give us instant FPs....here are my questions:

1) What are they? How do they work?

2) How long are they good for? If we tour on a Sunday, can we use them Monday and then again on Thursday?

TIA! :goodvibes

Instant fast passed I believe are good for the 4 days following the tour. You will get 3 instant fast passes per person. When you go to the fast pass distrubution say for Toy Story Mania and the return time says 5:05 - 6:05 and it is 11 in the morning your fast passes will print for 11:05 - 12:05. If the fast passes are gone for the day you are out of luck. It is a great way to do a park because you can still use your admission ticket for another fast pass at the same time.

3 per person? Are the instant FPs one-time use only (as in you use it once, then it's dead)?

You can use the Instant FPs at any attraction that has a Instant FP machine. The machine looks different from the regular machines. Toy Story mania has one and you can use it at any time. After the regular FPs are gone, you can go up to the Instant FP machine and get your FPs at that time. I have done this after all the FPs are gone. So if there are 4 People in your party, the guide will give you one card per person. So each person has 3 rides to choose from. You can use them on one ride if you wish.

If I remember correctly, the Instant FP machine for Toy Story is the first one.

If your talking about the instant fastpasses received from DVC tours we received them once...they are good for 4 days....which includes the day you receive them...so that day+the next 3 days....we were told they are good at one park for 3 rides...and unlike the birthday instant fast passes they cannot be used if regular fastpasses are no longer available for the ride

You're touring the models at DisneyLAND, not DisneyWORLD, right?

I think our system is a little different. We toured last year and got fastpasses. They were just a fastpass that was good for any ride (that has fastpasses), at any time. I think they were good for a week. We didn't have to use a machine, we just went in the regular fastpass line and handed them the ticket.

Also, DL's Toy Story Midway Mania does NOT have fastpasses.

Can I tour the model rooms for Aulani at DLR and get the FPs if I already a DVC member? I just want to check out the model, but i don't want to sit and talk about adding-on at this time.

They typically do not give any perks for existing members touring. Especially if you do not want to sit down and talk about adding on. I've toured a couple of times as an existing member, just to see the models, and did not get anything.

Hey DebbieB, how do I request to tour the model room? Is there a open house hour every day like they have at SSR's?

If you already are DVC and want to "sit down" and discuss adding on
points and you do a tour of Aulani models, do you get
Fastpasses????????

Much thanks!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I don't know about DLR. We did it at WDW and there was a set time in the early evening. I would contact your guide.

I added 25 points this spring. I got more instant fast passes than I can shake a stick at. 10 cards x 3 each. No kids here so it more than covered the trip. Note to self, add on before the end of the trip.

We did this and did not get fastpasses for rides in the parks. They only offered World of Color fastpasses.

Are "instant fastpasses" the same as VIP fastpasses?? We got six of the VIP passes for adding on points while on the Disney Wonder a couple of weeks ago. We pick them up when we go to WDW which is in three weeks.

Are the rules of use the same? We have friends going with us and I want to maximize them - we won't be in the 50% who don't use them :rotfl2::rotfl2:! if they are good for three days then i need to decide when to pick them up, etc etc.

Thanks

I was just going to post this. It is different here at DL than at WDW. I am not sure if they are different than the FP's received for staying at the resorts but we were able to just hand our FP's to the CM, we didn't have to put it in a FP machine first.

Bumping this up to see i can get a bit more information -

are VIP Fastpasses the same as instant fastpasses?
How many days are they good for?

thanks gang :thumbsup2
