I'm seeing some threads about pin codes, and I know how they work over at WDW, but I'm curious about DL. What are some popular pin codes people have seen in the past? Are they just for the DL resorts, or do they include the "good neighbor" hotels as well?

I tried the trick that someone referred to in another link this morning, so I'll call in about a week and see if it worked. I also ordered a DVD that came in the mail yesterday, and that's been known to work over at WDW.

I think so far, we're planning on staying at Best Western Stovall's, but of course I would LOVE to stay at one of the Disney hotels.

Also, are there any mini-marts or other places that might sell groceries nearby? We usually get a dining plan when we got to WDW, but I've read that DL's version is not the same and not worth the price. We'll be packing snacks and splitting meals every chance we get!

DL Pins are usually for the Disney resort hotels, not good nieghbors, not dining, and somtimes for a hotel/ticket combo. Usually they are just preempting regular discounts that haven't come out yet.

On the corner of Katella and Harbor(the Southeast corner of the resort) is a 7eleven. From Stovall's about 1 miles west on Katella is a Food4Less and BigK.

I received a pin code on Friday in the mail. It was in the form of a flyer about a vacation to Disneyland and it had a hi-lighted number code above my name. It was for 30-35% off rooms at the three DLR hotels. Good Neighbor hotels were not included in the offer and neither were park tickets. Now that you mention the planning video, you may have just figured out who I got mine. It came in my maiden name and I did order a video something like 5 years ago. Again, not sure if that's what triggered me to get one of the codes. My reservation at GCH is in my married name so I know it had nothing to do with the flyer I received.

Some have said that they received an e-mail but mine came in the form of "snail-mail" flyer.

Also, if you're looking at getting food & snacks there is a grocery store that will deliver to your hotel for you. I believe it's Vons and there is another grocery store right around DLR called something like "Groceries For Less" or "Food For Less"... something like that. It might be a cheaper alternative that running to a 7-11. Just a thought.
