Explain DDP changes

My wife and I usually do tables of wonderland but not sure if we are going to get AP's this year. So can some explain what the new changes are. I heard you book what days you want, but do they expire that night or can you just get lets say 3 days worth and use them as you will? I have looked and looked but I can't seem to find any answers. Just a bunch of people worried about what will happen with "renters" and how that will work. Thanks much in advance.

If you only purchase DDP for 3 nights (M, T, W) you can use them Monday through midnight on thursday. They will not be available for use during the rest of the stay. The only "new" part is that you now have one continuous reservation. DVC members could always break up the trip into separate parts and have dining added to specific portions of the stay.

Yes, but now they can do it and stay in the same room.

As far as can be determined, if you break your DVC reservation into segments and then add a dining plan only to some segments, those plans are considered separate dining plans, and will expire at midnight on the first day of the next segment, just as it would have if you had checked out.

So if you break your reservation into three segments:

Segment one: 3 nights, regular dining plan, 2 adults
Segment two: 3 nights, no dining plan, two adults
Segment three: 3 nights, Deluxe dining plan, four adults

The regular dining plan will expire at midnight the day Segment Two begins. You cannot use your credits from Segment One for the whole of Segment Two, only for the first day.

If you are checking in on monday and checking out on Thursday you can use your dining credits any time between checking in and midnight on thursday. You will be entitled to 3 days worth or dining, but if you like you can use all your entitlements on one day (not that you would want to). You can use them as quick or slow as you want over them days. Any not used by midnight after you check out will be lost though. Hope this helps

If you did Monday Deluxe, you could use your 3 Deluxe credits, and 2 snack credits from Monday check in until Tuesday midnight.
