Expiring points and the hurricane

I have a birthday trip for this weekend (thurs-sat) for 2 nights that i used with points expiring on sept 30. I fully plan to go Thursday (im a local) as long as i safely am able to get there. If i am unable to get there do to i4 being shut down or highways closed, do you think there is any chance i would at get a night back in points since they would expire by saturdat? I will still go friday (God willing!).

I know this is why you should never use expiring points on the last day but unfortunately for me my bday is the end of my use year lol.

You have to use or loss those points by Friday.
Use other roads if I-4 does not work for you. 417, 429, 192, 27...... WOW we love naming roads with numbers

Lolllll!!! Truth!!! Im just hoping all of them arent closed lol!! I hope i can get there!! Im totally fine not doing parks! Fortunately i live rught next to i4, 417, and 429 lolll!!!

If it's bad enough that even a local can't get there, I would imagine they'd refund it. I mean that isn't the agreement, blah blah, but if it's really that bad I can see them making an exception for one night. Make sure you have a full tank.

I'm about to cancel my Friday, because I don't see how the airport is going to be going and the gasoline situation for Uber/Lyft.

I think in the past for hurricanes they waived points going into holding and allowed late banking, but expiring points did expire.

Worst case scenario if you cannot get there, maybe someone who is already there and needs an extra night would be super grateful to rent or be 'gifted" the points? DVC friends of mine have son at college who is actually going to Disney to ride out the storm.

I canceled Thursday and Friday nights today. MS was able to cancel the reservation, take the points out of holding and bank them.

According to this https://www.wdwmagic.com/other/seve...-disney-world-hotels-during-hurricane-ian.htm no one will be allowed to check in after 3 p.m. Wed. so since they won’t let you check in as scheduled Thurs., I’m guessing MS will do what they can for you. Good luck & stay safe.

They were not banked points. They did check to make sure. We would’ve been out of luck if they were. Oh, and they did utilize them on a future reservation which freed up 2022 points that I can now bank to 2023. October use year BTW.
