Expiration dates on new tickets

I recently purchased two 8 day park hopper tickets from Undercover Tourist. I have used them many times and they are great. I just received the 8 day passes and the attached paperwork had a highlighted comment stating the tickets expire on 2/28/2019. What? I had no idea! These tickets will probably be used this Fall but this has me concerned since I sometimes purchase for future use to avoid price increases. Has anybody else encountered this? Thank you for any clarification on this. Tickets I purchased a few months ago did not include this notice.

Thank you for the info... I had no idea. It's odd that the thread indicates tickets will expire if not used by 12/31/2019. My paperwork said they expire at the end of February?? I appreciate your reply and will be careful with any future purchases.

It is odd that yours say that. Did you link them yet? You can see the expiration date that way. I find that UT is really helpful on their chat option if you want to ask them about it.

After reading this, I looked at our UT tix and see that the only date on them is 2/14/18, but no expiration- I'm guessing that's when they were processed or something?
Our UO tix do have an expiration of 3/21/19 on them though. The date is written on the sheet they are attached to and highlighted. Lucky we plan on going before then, but we only ever buy our tix 3-4 months in advance.
I can see this would be a problem if someone wanted to pre-puchase long term though.

No, I haven't linked them yet. I just got them yesterday and was going to link them today. I'll check out the expiration date on MDE when they're linked and maybe "chat" with UT. Thanks so much for your help....these tickets are so expensive!

There is some wording on UT’s site though that says to contact them prior to purchasing if the tickets are to be used after 12/31/18, presumably to make sure you don’t buy a ticket that expires before your trip.

Once you open the plastic sleeve or link them, they are non-refundable according to the paperwork. Just make sure you will use them before doing either of these things.
We've used UT for most of our ticket needs for many years now and never had a problem. The date thing throws me though.

Yeah I purchase thru UT all the time and I guess I just quickly ordered without reading everything since I am so comfortable with them. I'm just relieved I will be using the tickets before they expire. Lesson learned, always read carefully before ordering...lol

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (and maybe it's not even a question) but I think even if they expire it doesn't mean you lose their value. You would only need to pay any difference in the price between when they were purchased and when they are used.

This happened to me at Universal. At the gate they told me my tickets were expired and I had a mini panic attack. It ended up costing me like $50 to get 4 valid tix. Not great but not the end of the world.

Yes, in reading the thread posted by SaintsManiac from Robo that is the case, but wow I just didn't realize and it concerned me. It's so much money and I was kinda flipped out when I saw the paperwork explaining the tickets expire in really a few months (less than a year). Plus that would probably affect fastpasses. I'm just glad I understand now...whew!

Yes, it would.
You could not advance-book FP+ if your trip dates were after the tickets' expiration date.
