expiration date on giftcerts from giftcert.com

I know someone had asked about this not too long ago. I ordered Rainforest Cafe giftcerts via milesource from giftcertificate.com in late June, received them today. On front of gc it states"expires one year from date issued" The date stamped is Jan 24, 2001 ! So it basically is good for only 6 months because these are new giftcert, they were out of Rainforest Cafe ones for quite awhile this spring. I had had to wait to cash out for them. It's not a problem for us, we are going to wdw July 31st & will use them then, but be wary of cashing out too early for these. I had thought they were good for 1 or even 2 years.

I was just about to post the same thing! I too just received my gc's for Rainforest Cafe in the mail today with a date of January 2001 on them! I planned on using these for my February trip! Now I can't. I assumed the date on the gc would be the date they were issued to me! What a rip off!!! Is there anything I can do? Can I possibly get the expiration date extended. I feel like writing gift certificates a nasty letter. I worked hard for these 2 gc's and now they are useless!!!

I wd definitely contact them & demand new certs or return the $50 to your account so you can redeem later or something. THey shd not be sending something that is suppose to be good for a whole year with almost half of the time already gone. If you had one good for the full year as should, you would be able to use them next Feb.

I was the one that asked about this a week or two ago. Thanks for saving me from the headache that Threeboysmom is now going though. We aren't going until 7/02 so these current GC's wouldn't work for us either. I tried to e-mail GC.com about when the new stock of RFC GC's expired and I got a dumb canned response about it being my responsibility to use them before the exp. date and if I didn't they couldn't do anything about it . The e-mail also said something about GC's being good for at least one year from the date you get them. If that is not the case then I would think they should be able to do something about these. Hopefully Threeboysmom will get a better reponse when she tries to get her situation fixed. Good luck and pixie dust TBM!

I just received a Bennigans GC from giftcertificates.com w/ expiration 12/31/01. We are going to WDW Jan 2002 so we won't be bringing this one with us! We go off site to eat often and I collect all kinds of GC for our trip. I am disapointed about the Bennigans GC. I did call and decided not to mail it back to them because I didn't want to take a chance of them losing it, etc.

I have a question that is kind of along these lines...I got a gc from giftcerificates.com for $50 for Planet Hollywood but the expiration date is crossed off. Will I have a problem when I go to use it? What can I do?

I think I would email giftcert.com and ask them why the experation date was marked over.

I received a RFC gc the other day that was dated 6/24/2001 and expires one year from the date.
