No you cannot add the dining plan. Only by booking a package (room + tickets) at Disney owned and operated resorts, which RP is not.

While I don't know the specifics of that deal or anything, I can tell you that you will not be able to purchase a dining plan with that package. Dining Plans are only available to WDW Resort guests staying on-site at a WDW resort AND as part of a package purchased through the WDW Travel Company (or through an appropriate Travel Agent who books through WDW). Packages include room, dining, and tickets (which exceptions for tickets to AP holders and DVC owners, and technically you don't need a dining plan to have it be a package, so I guess it's just Room + Tix officially )

They are making this sound like a great deal but actually the 3 day ticket is the most expensive part of the MYW ticket. Adding days after this point only costs about $5.00 per day, per ticket. So most of the $800 savings has to be in hotel costs. An off-site hotel will almost always be cheaper, but you do give up some conveniences for that savings. It really depends on what is most important to you and if the DDP is, then you will have to stay on-site.

The difference in a 3 vs. 7 day ticket is less than $40. Not a great deal as far as I can see it. Dining is a no go too. This may be an "official disney hotel" but it's not a Disney hotel. You will not be considered on property and not be eligible for the perks that come with it.

Go on the official WDW website to see the hotels and package details. Also a map of wdw will list and show all the hotels that are really "inside" with all the privileges.

Sorry...no DDP unless you are staying at a Disney-operated resort. "Located inside the Walt Disney World Resort" does not mean the resort is Disney operated - there are several hotels operated by third parties located within the WDW property boundaries. It's rather misleading that the site you refer to calls the Royal Plaza an "official Walt Disney World hotel." I believe they do not participate in Extra Magic Hours either, of the third party resorts only the Hilton and the Swan/Dolphin do that.

Well, at least in defense of bookit.com, I looked it up (I'm bored tonight) and it looks like the hotel itself is what makes the "Official Walt Disney World Hotel" claim, and bookit just grabs that text. A couple other DTD ones also use that tagline. Most likely, more of a "Good Neighbor" type of thing, but it is very misleading for sure.
