I reserved my FP+ 60 days out, and now my trip is a few weeks away--going during a busy Spring Break week. Trying to avoid the most crowded day for each park.
I just checked FP+ and was very surprised that there are quite a few days with vast differences in FP+ availability by day/park. Example: Even though TP & easy wdw list all days as equally crowded, one weekday MK still has FP+ availability starting at 12:50pm for PP & the next day earliest PP availability starts at 5:30pm, another weekday, 4:00pm. (Other busy rides correspond.)
If my trip was during a SLOW time, I'd just select the MK day that shows 12:50pm PP still available just a few weeks out--knowing frequent & local visitors realize the importance of FP+, and that day would likely see less crowds.
BUT, this is a busy Spring Break school break week when many first-time & infrequent guests show up possibly unaware of the importance of reserving FP+ in advance...so maybe the park will be very crowded even though those unaware visitors didn't reserve their FP+ in advance...for those of you with experience & who track the best use of FP+ related to crowds...would you mind sharing your opinion?
