Experiences with First Choice

OK here's the problem. We are flying out of Bristol arriving at Sanford 3.15pm . Been informed by First Choice that we won't get our park passes and therefore our DDP "stuff" until the next morning at the First Choice welcome ! They can't guarantee that they can get passes etc delivered to our hotel the same evening. I'm feeling just a trifle aggrieved to say the least that I won't be able to see Wishes that night and possibly won't be able to access our DDP until the next day.

Now I might be wrong about this but am I right in thinking that our park passes hold the info about DDP ? And, have any of you DIS folk had experience with this ? Has anyone managed to get their paperwork on arrival ?

A very mystified

Call me a cynic, but I suspect they want to give you your passes at the welcome meeting in the hope of selling you tickets for other things - that way they are guaranteed you will turn up!

me personally i would be demanding the passes u have the rights to receive them, you paid for them . but (thats me though highly strung)

Yep that's what I intend to do, as long as I have my facts right about the DDP I think I have every right to demand my passes when I get there .
I have to be assertive, I have to be assertive........lol

If you have the dinign plan then they cannot deny you obtaining your meal on the first night as it is for the length of your saty what is the point of say ahving 14 nights of meals if you can only use 13 of them :(

I agree now I've just got to find out how I can speak to someone and get a straight answer ha ha .......

I can't see how first choice would be able to stop you receiving your Ddp credits. They will be in Disneys Computer system and there is no reason they can't put them on your room key when you check in.

My thoughts exactly!!

We travelled with them last year and had also booked the dining plan. I assume you must be in a disney hotel to be able to book the dining plan, we were in the CBR and the hotel gave us our park passes and dining plan tickets along with our room keys when we checked in.

If this isn't the case, I would tell First Choice you have plans for your first morning and will not be at the welcome meeting, there's no reason they can't leave something for you at hotel reception.

I would think that too! Especially as the deal is with Disney for the dining. Our DDP credits have always been on our room keys.

Thx guys so the credits are on the room key not the park pass ? I will be telling FC that we won't be at the meeting as we are booking an early ADR at Crystal Grill on Day One

Ring them and ask if you can pick them up at their desk at Sanford Airport :thumbsup2 It really should not be an issue, just calmly explain you can make better use of your vacation time actually doing what you want to do on your holiday not wasting it at a rep meeting for half a day :thumbsup2 We did this last year with no problems at all, they told us where we could find the rep if we required one and gave us a contact number too.

Wow thats a cheap trick by First choice!

I agree with all the others, why waste your holiday time, its too precious in Florida. Glad you are assertive enough, I guess some people arent. :confused3

Let us know how you get on

When we went last year our door key was also our park tickets so in theory everything will be on your door key which the hotel will give you anyway, so no need to waste a morning going to the welcome meeting!

been assured by First choice that they can arrange for everything to be left at GF for checkin I hope they come thu' lol

Agreed, your room key contains your park passes and dining info (it's all on the one swipey card) so I'm pretty sure you'll get it all at check in anyway!

Just to agree with previous posters that I'm sure you'll get all the info put on your room key at check in, I travelled with TCD this year and was supposed to pick up my ultimate tickets at guest services the following morning but the check in put them on my room key.

Thanks every one, aren't the DIS boards great there is always someone who knows something. I shan't be happy until I have my paperwork in my hot little hand though lol.

Does anyone go to the welcome meetings? First Choice dish out a goody bag for the kids, and would like to get one for DD, but if it involves some convoluted sales pitch, then I won't bother.
