Anyone ever surprise their kids at the resort with a princess dress from home (without their input?) I have a Disney parks Cinderella dress with accessories put away for my daughter (got a really good deal at a consignment sale and looks like new), and I have been trying to sway her to choose Cinderella at our BBB appt. We have a CRT appt for dinner after BBB. I’ve also been telling her that it’s probably better to bring a dress from home because you never know if they will have her size. Plus she gets sensory overload and I know it will take her forever to pick one out.

Then today I was thinking of getting a box at the dollar store and wrapping the dress inside it in tissue paper with a surprise note from Cinderella herself! Would leave it in the room like a special delivery. 😂 Shes only 6 so I think she would fall for it. I would put the box together when we arrived so I can pack the box flat.

So, has anyone surprised their kids with a princess dress for BBB and were they receptive to it or did meltdowns ensue? Shes a very opinionated little 6 year old 🙄

Based on your beautiful presentation alone I can't imagine why she'd have a meltdown over the gift. As you noted she's only 6 so go ahead and assert "your authority" (Cartman always kills me when he says that, LOL) with love.
Have fun. I'm sure if you exude confidence in the choice so will she:).

We always bring our own dress to BBB. Contrary to what they make it out to be, picking the dress lacks the pomp and circumstance as it were and is easily skipped over. It isn't apparently obvious what kids brought their own and who got theirs there because the dress display is really small and against one wall. The fairy godmothers ask at check in of you brought your own and if you say yes, they will show you to the lovely dressing room to put it on. I think your plan is excellent. If you are having trouble making the sale to your daughter, mention to the fairy godmothers there Cinderella bought her dress for her as a suprise. They will play right along and make a big deal.

Thanks! She is one stubborn little girl sometimes so I had to think of another way to convince here.

I’m so happy you said this! I will definitely make it a point to tell the fairy godmothers Cinderella picked this one for her.
