We are a family who appreciates a good steak and would like some feedback on which ones' you've tried and highly recommend.
We have reservations for our upcoming trip in December, but would like to stick to our 7TS credits instead of paying OOP. We're not interested in signature restaurants since we have our DS3 making it a bit less romantic. We're staying at Kidani village in case it's needed for the judging process.
The Contenders are:
1. Boma
2. Sanaa
3. Le Cellier
4. The Wave
5. GF Cafe
6. Kona Cafe
7. Coral Reef
8. The Turf Club Bar & Grill

Which one's to keep and prioritize according to importance. :thumbsup2

TIA :cheer2:

While many of the restaurants you listed are good to great, there is none that stand out for their steak options. I believe Coral Reef and LeCellier are both 2TS credit restaurants, so these might cause OOP expenses. LeCellier has a much better steak and is the best option on your list.

The Turf Club is a great option. We've eaten there several times, but their steaks are not the best on property. My steak at GF Cafe was rather poor.

Never had steaks at the other options you have listed.

Hope this helps.

The only restaurant on your list where I've had a steak is Kona. It was very good, but not the first place I'd think of for a steak. Shula's is my favorite, with Yachtsman a close second.

What about Raglan Road? There is a nice mixed grill there that DH likes.

Maybe I can get him to weigh in on this thread since I don't eat beef.

Oh also Ohana has lots of meat (tho not all steak) on skewers that they bring around and you can eat as much as you'd like

Neither is 2 TS credits ... yet. Coral Reef is still 1TS and from what I understand, Le Cellier will switch to 2TS in 2011. OP is going in December.

If steak is specifically looking for the Turf Club is good ... but good beef options are available at most TS restaurants. Chefs de France has a nice filet and you can get some yummy roast beef (carved for you) at Boma. I love Raglan Road ... fun and good food ... and they have some great beef options there as well.

Hi! So far we have only gotten to try 2 places on your list-Coral Reef and Le Cellier-both of the steaks we have had were good. Were either of these Jeff Ruby Steakhouse quality? (high end steakhouse restaurants where we are from)-NO; but a good deal for your TS credit-especially if you have free dining!

Also, Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavillion offers good steak off of the hibachi grill if you like that type of meal-you can get a filet grilled with vegetables, rice or noodles. It's a fun experience if you haven't tried it.

Enjoy!

Ohana is a carnivores dream come true. Le Cellier and Turf Club are excellent choices as well, but I have to throw in a suggestion for Captains Grille.

Boma We didnt care for any of the meats there because they are too sweet with vanilla and cinnamon
Le Cellier Excellent, we have had the filet a few times and it is always good
The Wave Great food! We have had the filet, the flank steak and the pork tenderloin and they were all awesome!
GF Cafe DH had a great NY Strip here and it was huge!
Kona Cafe Didnt care for this place, the NY Strip wasnt that great
Coral Reef DH didnt like it at all, he had the NY Strip and he said it was terrible

DH is eyeing on Ragland Road and seems they have quite flexibility, probably do a walk-in and get lucky!

Yes, Coral Reef and Le Cellier are both 1TS and even in March 2011, lunch is still at 1TS. Definitely considering Turf Club since that steak topped with crabmeat sounds YUMMY! Definitel Boma due to high ratings and the fact of convenience since we're staying there.

Thanks for the votes and will keep them on the list. Not really expecting high-end steaks due to theme park location. Unfortunately, we're not on free-dining so already paying for DDP and hoping not to add anymore OOP...or at least not expensive ones.
We have Benihana (Hibachi rest) all over California and frequent them often so this cancels it out.

We've been to Ohana twice, enjoyed them but would like to try somewhere different. Le Cellier and Turf Club :thumbsup2...wow, really Captain's Grille? :scratchin

Sorry, but Coral Reef and Le Cellier is only at 1TS and in March 2011, Le Cellier will switch to 2TS only for dinner-lunch stays the same. ;)

:thanks: for the suggestions and hope to see more....:surfweb:

Actually the only one I would go with is the Turf club. Le Cellier was simply OK, pretty much the soup and breadsticks are way better than the steaks. If you are use to true steak houses, you'll be disappointed. Boma was good but not noteworthy. If you're willing to go OOP go with shula's or Yachtsman.

I've never been to the wave or Kona

One that is not on your list, but I believe is the best steak we've had on property is the Oak Grilled Filet at Jiko. We've ate at all the places on your list and the one I would NOT recommend is Le Cellier simply because they use too much salt, even when we asked them not too. Also another option would be Yachtsman Steakhouse, their steaks were good but a bit pricey.

Just noticed that we'll be right about the same time...have you booked all your ADR's? Regardless, thanks for the tip and enjoy your trip! :santa:

IMHO we ate at Coral Reef 2 yrs ago and the waitress highly recommended the steak and said they had one of the best............ I thought it was one of the worst steaks I have ever had:confused3:confused3 This last trip we ate at California Grill and I had their filet and it was AWESOME!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I know it's not on your list but I thought it was a GREAT steak!!:thumbsup2

We have done our ADR's already. No particular order but these are the restaurants we chose.

Kona
Raglan Road
Tokyo Dining
Liberty Tree
Trails End
House of Blues
Brown Derby
Crystal Palace (this isn't a normal for us but we're up for trying it again after 6 or so years)
Narcoosees
Jiko

The reason I suggest Captains Grille is that the meats are very similar to Yachtman, but without the 2TS price tag.
