Experienced a "Disney Moment"

While I have hundreds of special Disney moments that involve family and friends, the most touching moment occurred on a very hot, steamy afternoon at the MK. The character parade was working its way down Main Street and the characters were being helped along by staff as it was so unbearably hot they were almost fainting. I am sure they were so anxious to get off Main St and out of there costumes. There was a small handicapped child waving with all his heart at the characters right before they left Main. One of the characters from Jungle Book stopped and visited with that little guy for what seemed to be ten minutes. The crowd just stood quietly smiling and enjoying the joy that visited that sweet child. To me it was everything WDW and Walt himself is all about. It is what draws us back time after time. It brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it or watch the kids faces during the parades.

I'll share

A month before a trip to WDW(2000) I had been in a play as a lady in waiting.I also had to cursty to the king which means I had gotten pretty good so I decided to try it on a princess. The cool part was Aurora considered me a "proper lady" for my cursty :)

I have so many special moments at WDW, but I'll just pick one.
Several years ago we went to Hollywood & Vine at MGM for lunch. We asked for the latest seating we could get, and the restaurant was almost empty -- just our group and about four other tables of people. Chip, Dale, Goofy and Minnie were all there and didn't have much to do, so we got lots and lots of attention.

Our granddaughter (who loved all the characters) was 15 months old and kind of a late walker. She could walk, but only if you held her hands. When Chip and Dale realized this, they took turns walking her around the restaurant for at least a half hour -- they even walked her over to play with Minnie and Goofy. We have got the best video of Lexi learning to walk with Chip & Dale at WDW. It's priceless, and we will always love that memory. It reminded us of the commercial they used to do where the little boy walked for the first time to Mickey.
