Considering renting an ecv with rent scooters Orlando. Has anyone rented from them? was it a good or bad experience?
How does a 4 wheel HD scooter work in the parks and in the cues?

We have not had experience with them, but we have had experience with the 4 wheel Maxima. We rented one from a company out here on the west coast. Do not do it unless you want a major upper body work out. And I mean a MAJOR upper body workout, we rented for a single day and both DH and I who used one each had upper bodies thst were sore for about a week afterwards. And the turning radius was terrible. It was just all that was available on our area when we went to a park one time, we decided we would rather use the in park rentals than a 4 wheel Maxima again. There has only been one other rental, which wasn't a Pride model that had that distinction. And to say we are NOT a fan of the in park rentals is a massive understatement.

My suggestion would be to with a company that will rent 3 wheel Maximas, same capacity, but much easier to handle and are still very stable.

Some of the companies I know that rent three wheel Maximas are:
Gold Mobility (you will have to call them for instructions on how to rent one, but they are very friendly and helpful. They have a flat rate for the first 7 days, so if you are on a shorter trip, other companies may be slightly less expensive. But do keep in mind Golds price includes Damage and theft insurance. I believe Holds 7 day rate is lower than the 7 day rate of the company you mentioned. And Golds also comes with cup holder, cell phone holder and they add a fan. You can also add an additional accessory for free. Gold will meet you on your schedule.)

Buena Vista (Has set meeting times for each resort and inckudes nothing extra, unless you use the links in the Ads here, then whatever the ads here promise.)
Apple (Not sure of their current practices)

I am sure there are others as well, those are the ones I know are still around that do off the top of my head.

Hopefully this helps.

I've never heard of that company. I don't think any members of DIS posted a review.

The scooter you mentioned is the Pride Maxima. Its designed for heavier guests. If you weigh under 350 lbs consider the popular Victory model. 3 wheeled scooters are more maneuverable. I haven't read a single post related a tip over incident with a 3 wheeled model.

Buena Vista is..board sponsor. Use the banner link to get a discount and or an extra

Considering the company in question also rents the Victory model, I figured they were asking about the heavier duty model for a reason. The Maxima is a hood model, just not in a 4 wheel configuration. The 3 wheel is great though.

And yes Buena Vista, Gold and Apple all rent them.

The company in question lists the Maxima scooter first in their list of scooters. It's possible that's the reason the OP was asking about that particular model. Other vendors list that model last. I think we'll agree there are only 2 reasons to rent the Maxima instead of the Victory; the weight of the renter or the Maxima scooter is the only model available.

edited to add If my preferred vendor only had the Maxima available I'd probably check with 1 or 2 other vendors before settling on the Maxima.

Thanks to all of you. The reason I was looking at heavy duty is I am just under 300 pounds. The problem is I need it to be portable as we are only staying on Disney property part of out trip and at a house at another resort for the rest of the trip. Does any one have any ideas for me? Thank you

At just under 300, the Victory model will be good. Again, I would go with the three wheel. Since you need it to be portable, call and make sure that the model they are renting you can come apart. I know the ones from Gold can, but I know some of the other rental companies have configured them so they can't.

Also, check with whatever rental company you use that it is ok to pickup or drop off at a house or that they have alternate arrangements than can be made, not all rental companies allow that.

If you go with Gold, call and tell them what you need so they can get you the unit they have that would be the best fit for you.

The Maxima is not portable in any way.

We rented several of the transportable Victory 10 scooters on our last trip to WDW from Gold Mobility. They have nicest scooters with the longest battery life we have ever experienced. We all stayed on site at a Disney Resort, but several days we did day trips. Seaworld day we took 2 of them apart, and put them in the back of a small SUV. Our Universal Day we used Mears taxi service to transport me, and the scooter to Universal ( you do have to tell them that you have a scooter) We transported the scooters regularly on the busses, boats, and on the MR. One of the members in out party went shopping a took a city bus from Disney Springs very inexpensively. My sister and her husband went back a few weeks ago and used UBER, she said they have a new service called MT Connect, (medical transportation) and for about 20-30 $ a ride she said it was easy and convenient to get around with the scooter.

In case OP is still reading this thread. Skip the rear basket. It makes the scooter oversized. You may need to remove before boarding buses, boats etc. You'll avoid the temptation to add to the weight by bringing a lot of water.

The rental place you mentioned is N of Universal. The ones suggested in this thread are much closer to Disney. Could make a difference if you need servicing.

You'll have a car. Consider picking it up. You may save a few dollars MORE IMPORTANTLY The vendor can give you suggestions on how to load it.

Don't make the mistake I did. Make sure the red light is on indicating your scooter is charging. Plugging the charger into a dead outlet to charge doesn't do much

Good point last trip we only outfitted one of our scooters with a basket out of a medical need. Otherwise none of us would have selected it. Just don't like to remove them to get on the busses.

My father in law used the Maxima and didn't have any problems getting around.
There is a brand new model of the Maxima scooter my husband is between 340-350 LBS, and decided on the maxima over Victory this time. He said its very comfortable and very stable. After 8 hours at the park its only used 2 bars. The brand new ones are really nice.
