Experience with Kids club - positive test/quarantine

We have two upcoming cruises with 3 children, one under 5. One cruise is 5 night, the other 10.

I have been reading posts that state that if a child in the club shows symptoms, that child will be tested and if positive, ALL children who were present with that child will be quarantined, with family, on level 2, whether or not that child tests positive. This is based on a thread reporting an experience back in October.

Now we know that anyone can pick up Covid and that vaccination status is no protection from getting it. Anyone on a shore excursion could be exposed or it could develop after boarding.

Is it still the practice to quarantine families of children exposed in the club but testing negative? Any more recent experiences?

My understanding is the whole family doesn’t necessarily need to quarantine if the child is a close contact - just the child and 1 parent. If siblings were not identified as a close contacts, the siblings and other parent can remain in the original room. If all siblings attended the Club in the same group, they would all be close contacts.

For how long? Most cruises are 7 days for less, what are quarantined passengers allowed to do?

They are only allowed to isolate or in other words stay in your new stateroom. Disney will bring you food. I suggest packing playing cards just in case.

Required to isolate - there are guards outside the door - cannot leave the cabin on deck 2.

The children who were in contact, and parent(s) were required to move to the isolation floor - deck 2, even though they all tested negative. They were not allowed to stay in their own stateroom. No veranda, even though their stateroom had one.

The cruise reported was a shorter one, so they did not know how long they would have had to stay on a longer one.

Staying with 3 children who test negative in one cabin on deck 2 for a 10 day cruise? To me, that is a BIG deal.

It’s a risk you are taking cruising right now. We should all be aware of the potential to possibly be quarantined.

Is this made clear to every passenger prior to boarding (not just buried in the fineprints)? I can't imagine paying $$$ to be confined to a stateroom for most of a cruise.

For the kid's clubs - if a child tests positive, do ALL kids that were there during that time have to quarantine, or do they monitor who was actually a close contact (closer than 6 ft, longer than 15 cumulative minutes, etc.)?

Also, are there any reports of whether this is any different now that kids over 5 are vaccinated? I read the same reports, but those were back when the kids were all unvaccinated. In other words, now that kids are vaccinated, are they following more updated guidelines based on exposure if fully vaccinated as opposed to exposure for those unvaccinated (i.e., no symptoms doesn't require quarantine for close contact)?

My understanding is all kids in that group are quarantined. DCL is are grouping kids (~10 per group?) by arrival times, and that group of kids stays together during the time they are at the Club, rotating to various activities together. So if 1 in that group tests positive, the rest of the group is quarantined as close contacts.

Does this apply if to kids if they boarded using a 90-day recovery letter? Would they still have to quarantine if they were a close contact in the kids club?

No change at this time. The 3- and 4-yr-olds are also in the Club and not able to be vaccinated yet.
I get that for the 3-4 year-olds, but I was hoping those over 5 wouldn't have to quarantine for a close contact if asymptomatic since they would be fully vaccinated. My 2 big worries right now are the stress of the port testing, but I'm almost more worried about the possibility of being stuck in quarantine for multiple days.

The 90-day recovery letter only gets you out of embarkation testing (and maybe the debarkation testing for unvaxxed). It has no other bearing onboard.

I guess an additional question, has anyone actually found any policies from Disney on any of this? I've read through what would appear to be all of the relevant "Know Before You Go" pages and have found nothing about quarantine procedures/requirements while on board. I get those who point out that these are risks we're taking, but I'd like to know what the actual risks are at the time. They repeatedly talk about CDC guidelines, for example, but the CDC guidelines do not match up with what people have reported the policy to be (i.e., quarantine due to close contact for fully vaccinated individuals).

I understand. I'm not sure that reports have ever clarified if vaccination status has been taken into consideration regarding quarantine as a close contact, though I do think DCL errs on the side of caution and quarantine close contacts regardless of vax status. There have been reports of CMs quarantined as close contacts for 10 full days without symptoms and all are vaxxed. However, I do think there is very little "contact tracing" occuring onboard other than the Club/Lab and maybe DCL excursions (not even sure about the excursions).

It seems their response is something like "it will be handled on a case-by-case basis" and they aren't putting out specifics.
