Experience with Hampton Inn Florida Mall? Or other recommendations for 1 nt offsite?

Hi All -
I am looking for an inexpensive option for myself, DH, and 2 DDs for Friday Jan 20th before checking into POFQ on the 21st. Our plane gets in at 9 pm so I am really just looking for a clean, safe hotel that is easy to get to from MCO and preferrably has breakfast included. It would be great if a grocery store was also easy to access in the am on our way between the hotel and POFQ.

So far I got a good rate at the Hampton Inn Florida Mall. Anyone know anything about this hotel. Anyone have recommendations for another hotel I should look into instead?

I haven't stayed at that particular Hampton Inn but, from my observations, that's not in a particularly great part of town - likely the reason for the good price. Orange Blossom Trail, at least in that stretch, is a very busy local road with a bunch of so-so hotels, fast food restaurants, some car dealerships and stores in strip shopping centers leading from SR528 (the Beachline) up to the Florida Mall (the Mall is about a half mile north of the Hampton Inn).

I'd think you'd be able to find other relatively low-cost options that are the generally safer, perhaps more touristy areas. For instance, there's another Hampton Inn on Universal Boulevard, an Embassy Suites on International Drive, and many others on that general area. And there are a couple of Publix supermarkets between those hotels and POFQ.

Last summer we spent 3 nights at Hampton Inn on palm parkway and we were very happy with it,its not anything super special but we got an advanced rate of $100 a night, free breakfast buffet ,free parking,clean and right down the street from DTD and the DTD hotels .Here is a link to them on Trip Advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...Orlando_Lake_Buena_Vista-Orlando_Florida.html

Orange blossom trail near the florida mall isnt bad. For one night, its not a big deal.

Will you be taking Disney Magical Express or will you have a car? If DME, then I'd pick a hotel right near the airport that has a free shuttle. If you will have a car, I would look for something on Palm Parkway, the Marriott Village Lake Bryan area or possibly the new Fairfield Inn LBV (right past Palm Parkway and across the street form the Joe's Crab Shack).
