I am thinking about booking an Airtran flight out of Lexington, KY but it leaves at 5:40 and arrives about 7:40 p.m., any experience with this flight arriving on time? I have not flown Airtran before and I am concerned about it being on time since we have a 2 year old and it is a late flight.

No experience yet but we booked with AT out of LEX for our June flights. Flight down is scheduled to leave at 5:16 PM (one schedule change so far--original flight time was 5:25 PM) then flight home is at 3:30 PM (original flight time was 3:00 PM). I'll be sure to post when we return to let you know how things went.

When are you flying?

We just couldn't pass up the prices. Even with paying for seats and 2 bags each way we still ended up paying less than $700 for the 4 of us to fly RT. We usually fly SWA out of Lville but they couldn't touch these AT prices EVER this time. Cheapest SWA had was $75 each way for 1 night. When I tried to book the tix, the prices changed WHILE I was booking. Plus, AT's flight times were more agreeable for us. So we're trying AT...hoping it all goes smoothly.:rolleyes1:

The only concern I would have is that they only fly Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sun. What happens if weather cancels one of those flights? It would be hard to accommodate all the people on the canceled flight on the next several flights.

I haven't flown on AirTran out of LEX, but I have out of Indianapolis .. I'd definitely book out of LEX if fares were low enough! As it turns out, Allegiant is going to be cheaper than AirTran. But, how exciting is it to have low fare choices in Lexington?!

Back to AirTran ... when we flew with them, the flight loaded quickly and we arrived in Orlando ahead of schedule. Loved that.

No experience yet, but we are on the evening flight from Lexinton, as well, this summer. Got a super cheap flight, only $70 each way and Little Debbie coupons took care of most of the fees to choose seats. Hopefully, all will go well as we've got an 1 and 30 minute drive to the beach house we are staying in. But cheap was the only way this trip was happening as we'd already had plans in June to go to Hilton Head and then friends offered us their family's beach house in July and could not pass that up. Did the GADGAD program to get free passes for a day to WDW!

No experience yet but we are using them October 1st. I couldn't believe how low the prices were. We usually fly Delta out of Cincy and I'm saving way more flying out of Lex (and I don't have to pay for long term parking ). Our flight has changed already but only by 10 minutes so that's not a big deal to me. I noticed yesterday that they are scheduling more destinations out of Lex too which is great.

Hey guys--just back yesterday. We had absolutely no problems or complaints about AirTran. Flew into MCO on 6/2 and flew into LEX on 6/13. Thought they were great. We'd fly them again. Both flights were on time. Easy peasy...:thumbsup2

In fact, we are thinking of taking a NO PARKS trip in October so I'm on the hunt for airfare again!

We're flying out of Lex on Air Tran at the end of the month. No changes to flight yet. This will be our first time flying with them. Got a great deal we couldn't pass up!

My husband and I just returned from an anniversary trip to the mouse and we flew out of LEx TO MCO the airport is super easy to get around, the day we left we parked, walked from economy parking to security and was at our gate in less than 20 minutes, the airport was dead, we kept looking around for more people. LOL Anyway we flew airtran and they did not load by zones but by rows, starting from the back to the front. We left about 10 minutes later than scheduled due to the incoming flight being late but we still arrived in Orlando on time. When we returned to LEX the parking lot was a little crazy because everyone is trying to get into the pay with credit card line which is the far right lane so that creates a little roadblock but nothing to awful, I would suggest cash for parking as that lane moves faster, also when parking, park all the way down down the lot in front of the tower, that is where the entrance to the garage is and then right inside into the airport entrance, they do have some construction going on so you have to walk around the yellow tape but it was still so easy and fast to get to. We leave again on Friday this week, this time with the kiddos
