Experience of Extra Magic Hours at busy time (Christmas?)?

For those of you who were in WDW over the Chrsitmas / NY times, did you experience the new EMH schedule?

I'm wondering what time the parks that are open for evening EMH close if the 'normal' closing time is late anyway. For example, if MK is open until 11pm. does that mean it will stay open until 2am for EMH? Or does EMH only come into effect on days when the normal closing is a bit earlier?

i don't know about the new EMH but we bought E-tickets in mid-summer when MK closed at 11pm. We were still there at 2am - eating ice cream on Main Street - truly magic!
