When I went to Disney last summer, I was in Animal Kingdom. Well they're building this new ride called Expedition Everest! I was talking to a worker with my cousin and he told us that the ride would be going forwards and backwards! has anyone heard anything else about it? ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo :earsgirl:

Here's what Deb's All Ears has to say:

"In Expedition EVEREST, guests board an old mountain railway destined for the foot of Mount Everest. The train rolls through thick bamboo forests, past thundering waterfalls, along shimmering glacier fields and climbs higher and higher through the snow-capped peaks.

But suddenly the track ends in a gnarled mass of twisted metal and the thrills intensify as the train races both forward and backward through mountain caverns and icy canyons and guests head for an inevitable face-to-muzzle showdown with the mysterious yeti -- known to some as the abominable snowman."

For the rest of the story, here's two great articles on the ride:

Sounds fun!

that is exactly what I was thinking about when i heard about expedition everest!
Of course it has been yrs since i was on the matterhorn, way back when i was a little girl!
Can't wait for this to open! May just have to make a special trip for that alone!

I was watching the travel channel the other day and there was a show "whats new in Orlando 2005" and they showed stuff at Universal and also new stuff (and some older stuff) from WDW they also showed stuff about Expedition Everest.... it kinda looks like its the Matterhorns big scary brother... the Matterhorn is tame compared to what EE is going to be I cant wait to ride it.... (from what i can understand) you start going up the mountain you have a run in with the Yeti and forces you back down the mountain backwards.. and you run into the Yeti peridocally thru out the ride as he chaces you down the moutain... its suppose to be the fastest and tallest ride at WDW

If you have been on space mountain at WDW then you have been on the matterhorn ride at DL. The only difference is DL it is semi in the dark sort of like Thunder Mountain.
