I bevieve EE is scheduled to open on April 1st officially. I was wondering if anyone knows if it may open earlier or if anyone has experience with other soft openings on new attractions. We are going to be there March 9-17th an would love to have a chance to ride!!!

I don't know a set opening date, but I do know that Passholders are able to go for a Special preview weekend from Jan. 26 through 29, which I will be attending and cannot wait!

I would guess that towards the end of Feb and most of March, there will be quite a few soft openings for the ride. Just ask any of the CM's in the area if they have any information.

I apologize in advance if this has been asked elsewhere, but if you are a passholder (we are), how are you able to access the "soft opening" of the ride? Do you just show up with your pass? (I'm assuming probably not, but don't know how!) Thanks so much!!!

I was also wondering about the soft openings. Are they announced? or is it just a nice surprise when you get into the parks? And is there anyway to know ahead of time so you can be there early?!?! TIA I am soooo excited for this ride :Pinkbounc

Well, littleprincessmom, I would imagine you just approach the ride with your pass. I have never been to a passholder preview, so I'm really not too sure. :/

Does anyone know with the soft openings, if all CM's in the park will know it is going on that day or if only the ones at the ride? I want to know if I ask the CM ..."quietly"...at the front of the park if they would know. OR if I have to be walking by the ride itself to know.

Hi,

Just wondering if DVC owners are included in this too? IF so, maybe we'll hop a flight down :O)

Thanks,

Kristin

Soft openings are not announced. you could walk by EE at 4:00pm and it would be closed with no one there and nothing turned on. Walk by at 5:30 and there could be a full que of people waiting to ride. Just luck of the draw being there when they are wanting to run tests.

AP holder, and DVC preview the 26th - 29th. Just walk up. Show your ap or DVC id and get in line. quite simple. hardest part, is getting past the people trying to ride who do not have AP or DVC id and insist on arguing with the CM checking id;s at the front.

I've hit 2 soft openings in the past couple of years - 1 knowing about it, the other not knowing about it.

Mission Space was due to open in the fall, yet when we were there in July/August, you could walk up and get a fast pass, or if early in the morning, just walk on (about a 5 minute wait).

This past year, I happened to be on a 1 day trip, and drove to Epcot, and asked at the ticket window is Soarin was open (soft opening). She said that she could not promise that the ride would be open, but they planned on taking riders that day. What this means, is that if they find a glitch, or if a glitch stops the attraction, you might not get to ride it that day.

So, after all of this, what does it mean?

We are going to be there late Feb/early March, and I would anticipate being able to ride on the attraction. As for your case, walk by the attraction, and see if they are taking riders that day!
