Expedition Everest Question

So I am not a fan of roller coasters at ALL...Don't ever go on them because I hate the feeling... I have been on Big Thunder Mountain and that I could handle...so my question is - Is Expedition Everest on par with Big Thunder Mountain or a crazy roller coaster ride??? (I refuse to go on the Rock n Roll Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror due to my hate of those kinds of rides)

I think it's more intense than BTMRR. I haven't ridden it, but my daughter did last year and said it was much "scarier". She didn't want to ride BTMRR again after that, even though she loved it the first time.

I agree, I think it is far more intense than Big Thunder Mountain RR. Part of it is in the dark and you go backward after you reach the top. I'd say based on the rides you listed you won't ride, Expedition Everest would likely make the "no" list for you.

It's close to the level of Rockin Roller. Definitely more intense than Big Thunder.

That being said, it's still a fantastic ride and not because it's intense. It's fantastic because of the theming and story it tells. I would recommend you ride at least once even if you don't like coasters.

I love BTMRR, but I positively won't do EE again. The section where you go backwards, and then the section with the tight spiral did a real number on me. I'm quite happy to browse the gift shop while DH rides it

I would absolutely agree with this!

It's a really fun ride, but the backwards part and some of the drops would likely make it a no go for you. The backwards part to me is on par with the loop and corkscrews on RNRC.

Based on the two examples of no-go rides that you gave, I would say that you should probably avoid EE, too.

i predict you would hate EE (especially the backwards part as mentioned - i used to love EE when i was younger, but lately the dip when you are moving backwards in the dark has been more unsettling and not so fun as it used to be.)

I suggest you check out a ride video online if you have not done so yet.

i'm a huge fan of wooden coasters and not a fan of big intense coasters. I like everest a lot. It's smoother than big thunder, it does go backwards and there is use of the dark to catch you off guard. It's the highest coaster disney has so a couple drops can be longer than you might expect. It's going to be 50/50 if you would like it but your on the edge so i'm not sure I would stay to skip it.

There's a story? Once we go backwards my eyes are squeezed shut until the end.

I'm one of the few--don't hate on me!--that thinks BTMRR is meh. I don't know why--I enjoy coasters, but I can do without it. EE? It's fantastic--and smooth. The story is worth the ride. And the queue too. Heck, I'd stand in it just to be sure I took in all the details. It's amazing.

While mild compared to an average roller coaster, it's definitely more exciting than a typical Disney roller coaster. It has a couple of helixes (one of which is backwards) and a decent drop. It shares similar characteristics with Big Thunder, but is probably a step or two above it in terms of thrills. That said, if you like Big Thunder, I would at least give Everest a chance.

I love it, but I think it's a tough one for people who are scared . Just watching the drop with people screaming is very intimidating
