Expedition Everest Question (spoiler)

Just got back from our wet DW vacation. Our first time on Expedition Everest, and I don't know how we all could have missed it, but neither myself nor DH nor 10 yo DD saw any animatronic Yeti on EE. I remember the ride up, the broken track, the backwards part, then the various twisting turning drops (awesome!) and then just at the end we saw a silhouette of the Yeti on something like a movie screen. No animatronic. No furry beast. Where do you see the Yeti? Is it always there or could it have been "down" possibly? Any ideas?

P.S. Primevel Whirl is truly "evil" in the rain. I kept slipping from side to side (I was alone in a two seater section) and I smashed my left wrist and right elbow. Ouch.

its probable the yeti was down. The yeti appears right before the drop, the part where you stop.

On our trip in July the Yeti was down. He was over there, but not moving. We zipped right passed him. If I hadn't been looking for him I'd have missed him completely. I just knew what to look for.

Not true. The animatronic Yeti is after the big drop. The OP saw the video of the Yeti before the drop, but the robot is once you re-enter the mountain after the drop.

im an idiot, you're correct. Before the drop is the lighted version of him shaking the track.

My DD5 and I rode EE 4 times (about 2 weeks ago) on three different days. On the first three rides I thought that we missed the yeti. On the 4th (and sadly last) ride, we saw him. There is no way to miss him. He must have been down on the other rides. I'm glad we did get to see him at least once .

The Yeti should be the last thing before you leave the mountain and head back to disembark the ride. It's sad that on an attraction SO NEW we are already having issues. I didn't realize this was happening (we went last year and only rode once and luckily Mr. Yeti was awake and attacking...)

Darn! Guess I'll have to go back next year to check it out!

Unless the animatronic yeti is down, or people are closing their eyes, I don't see how anyone can miss it. The thing is huge!

I agree the time you get to see the Yeti is so quick that I'm not sure it needs to be animatronic at all. A still statue with some lightning flashes and red shining eyes would be enough. Also, does anyone else think the sequence of the ride is wrong? I think it better to see the video of the monster tearing up the track then stumble across the broken track would be better than the reverse way they have it.

This cracks me up because DH and I rode EE last trip with my MIL. She didn't see the animatronic yeti either even though it wasn't down...she still had her eyes closed from the drop!

When we rode EE, I saw the Yeti but my DD sitting right next to didn't notice it. When we rode again later in the day, she did see it though. I think she was so busy enjoying the ride that she just missed him.
