Expedition Everest for 7 Year Olds?

I think you should work up to it with perhaps Goofy's coaster, maybe Big Thunder then this one. You can explain that it goes backward, is partly in the dark but you won't know until you do it unfortunately. It helps that a lot of it is visible from the line. I will add that we had my daughter go on Splash Mountain when she was really thinking she didn't want to. It is another ride where you can SEE the big drop and it scared her. After that, she rode everything including Tower of Terror and loved it. She was 4.

My 7 year old just rode it for the first time this past summer.. he loved it.. but it can be quite intense.. if your child is not a thrill seeker (like mine is) I'd use caution.

I aware with Coach81 above...

it can be quite intense..

But, in our case, My daughter LOVED IT! We got off and on again about 3 times :-)
She goes on every roller coaster with us and gets angry when she sees a really big ride that she cannot go on. Thats my girl :lovestruc Our entire house is full of Thrill seekers!

Where can you find the height requirements for the rides?

Thanks a bunch! I'm wondering if my 7 year old twins are tall enough for several rides.

Kate,

Check out this site. They have tons of information in addition to the ride restrictions. We leave for WDW tomorrow so I'll let you all know if they braved Everest. Thanks for all the help!

So funny, we were just talking about this with our kids tonight! I'm pretty sure my DS9 is going to go on. My DD6 has been talking it up too, but I have a strong feeling she will chicken out when we get there.

DH and I rode it last trip and I think it is more intense than BTMRR. I think it goes faster and the backwards part and being in the dark makes it more intense than Big Thunder. We absolutely loved it, can't wait to go on again!!

The kids will normally try any ride once. So far, the only one they have adamnatly said "never again" was the Dinosaur ride in Epcot. I think it was just loud and dark...

Our first trip to WDW, my boys were 8 and 6. They both loved EE, TOT, and RnR. They were their favorite rides. They liked looking at the attraction descriptions on the WDW website before we went, so they had an idea what to expect.

Now, when we got off Dinosaur, DS8 said, "Mom, you shouldn't let us ride that again until we're teenagers". Funny though, the next year they both wanted to go on it again. Kids, you just never know.

My super tall DS rode it right after he turned 4 and loved it - has ridden it multiple times every trip.

DD was tall enough our last trip - she was 5. We waited in line, got right up to the train to climb in and she told me, "No. I'm not going." We have an agreement that they'll try everything once, but I didn't want to hold up the line, so we used the chicken exit. There is one of the cars from the train outside of the chicken exit, so she climbed in and said, "I'm ready now!!"

Unfortunately, the ride was down almost the rest of the afternoon, so we didn't get another opportunity after that. Boy, was she MAD. It's at the top of her to do list for next year.:thumbsup2
