First off, this is my FIRST post! I have been to Disney 6 times and I am 25 years old; I frequented this webpage for a few years and a past few trips but never bothered to post so here we go!

I absolutely LOVE BTMR and space mountain...but fear Rockin Rollercoaster and Splash Mountain due to the fall of the waterfall....I never been on EE but am pondering doing so...

Just how bad is it? Any bad drops like Splash Mountain or is it comparable to SM or BTMR??

Thanks in advance! Excited for my Sept 13-19 trip!!!

I'm not a fan of the big thrill rides, I've never done Tot or RnR, and I'm doing Splash for the first time next trip. SM and BTMR are a couple of my favourites.

EE is, IMHO, one of the best rides in Disney. (Along with family favourite Soarin'.)

It's so smooth, and there might be a few drops, but seeing how you've done BTMR and SM, those shouldn't be a problem. The backwards part isn't bad at all, and the whole thing is such an adventure! I'd totally try it, and if you don't like it, you never have to do it again! :wizard:

PS: Welcome to the disboards! :)

I love thrill rides and I love EE. It is much faster and more thrilling than SM and BTMR, neither of which has the large hills and speed that EE does. Not trying to scare you away, but don't want to minimze the differences either.

I agree, there aren't any really big drops on EE. Try it once! You can also find videos of the ride on youtube to get more of an idea what it's like.

Just fyi - RnRC doesn't have any real drops, either, if that's what bothers you most. It does go upside down in a corkscrew, but if that doesn't bother you as much as the drops, you might be fine trying that one, too!

Both are smoother than SM or BTMRR (IMO), though EE is smoother than RnRC.

Hmm...thanks for the honesty. So the ride does have a drop like SM? See, I dont like that feeling of your stomach and heart wanting to jump out of your throat lol. Maybe I'll just stick to BTMR, test track, & the like

EE does have one big drop which, IMO, gives you the same feeling as the Splash drop although on a slightly smaller scale. (I'm not trying to talk you out of it, I'm just being honest.) If you can get past that one big drop, however, EE is so worth it. The ride is incredible...the best at WDW, IMO...and for us it's a "don't miss".

EE is not smooth unless you call smooth getting your head whipped around and jiggled. I always have a headache after it, similar on SM. If you like SM, you'll love EE. Splash mountain is tame compared to EE unless you are deathly afraid of drops.

I love that feeling, so I may not be the best person to advise you ;), but I don't remember getting it on EE. I just looked it up and apparently it has an 80 foot drop, but it just didn't feel like it to me.

The only Disney ride that gives me that feeling is California Screamin' at DCA. Oh, and ToT, of course.

There is a big drop at the beginning. It is a little rough.

So, if you are looking for advice, not just an opinion of the scariness, though, I have a recommendation.

Go to AK and check the FASTPASS board. Try to get one so that it will be the LAST thing you do that day. That way, you can do the ride and if it IS scary enough to ruin your day, it's not that big a deal.

It truly is a not to be missed and if you can handle BTMR, then you should probably be okay.

You can see the drop from the walkway. Head over to the viewing area to the left (as you face it) of the ride entrance. You'll see the trains coming out of the mountain. That is the biggest drop on the ride.

Hi there. I know it is not the one you requested info on, but I wanted to gently encourage you to give Rockin RC a go. I don't like big drops either, and this coaster doesn't have one. It launches you to get you going at the start instead of having to do the big hill(so no yucky tummy at all!). It is nice and smooth and fast. I repeat, I do not like big drops, but after I worked up the courage to try this one, it has become my favourite ride in the whole park!

Whatever you decide, have a wonderful trip :goodvibes

I have rode coasters for the last twenty five years and Disney only has a few intense rides. The only two I haven't rode are RNR Coaster (kept missing this one somehow in 2007) and Mission Space (I refuse to ride a thrill ride that has had deaths on it plus it is hard enough to ride the light one being claustrophobic so one thing at a time is enough for me).

(Just going to fore warn anyone this may contain what one may call spoilers for anyone that hasn't rode the ride yet)

I don't think EE is that intense but then again I grew up riding the Rebel Yell Wooden Coaster at Kings Dominion (Doswell, VA outside of Richmond) way before seat belts and any kind of restraint other than a metal bar that didn't do much. For me EE starts out pretty calm and doesn't pick up till the backwards part. Then for someone that isn't huge on Thrill Rides it could get kind of rough so to speak. Personally I find that coasters in the dark seem to help most people that usually don't like coasters. There is no drop in EE that compares to the one at Splash Mountain so if you can manage that I think you will get through EE fine...

I hate the dropping sensation too, so from one drop hater to another, I didn't think the drop on EE gave me that feeling. However, it is a really intense coaster, especially the backwards part, and I don't plan on riding it again anytime soon.

I say try it once - you might really like it. I think I am just getting too old for intense coasters - I'll stick to BTMR and the Barnstormer. :rotfl:

No drops on RnRC either, but the blast off is really intense - after that the ride is pretty tame though.

I love twists and turns, but don't like big drops. Here's a tip: clench your stomach muscles when you go into the drop and you won't feel it nearly as much.

EE is more intense than BTMR (which I loooove) and SM but don't let that scare you. The thing about it is that's it's outdoors and up high (if you're afraid of heights, the climb to the top could be a tad harrowing). It will zip into a tunnel where the track ends and stop momentarily before taking you backwards in the dark. Once it rights itself, you go to the only big drop, which is just steep compared to their other coasters.

I just rewatched a video myself and this drop looks so tame. Let's just say that, when we rode it last year, my BF commented afterwards that he had never heard me scream like I did at that part.

i am a thrill seeker so naturally I love:love: both EE and RnRC. For EE, the ride starts off pretty mild but it picks up when you go backwards. My suggestion is keep your head against the headrest as you start to go backwards so you won't have the light headed feeling. for RnRC, the launch is what intimidates most people as they see it for the very first time. For me, the launch is my favorite part of the whole ride. But it is pretty smooth and a whole lotta fun. Also keep your head against the headrest. Especially at the launch.

I think you should give it go. You will have fun.:thumbsup2 A previous poster had a great idea that I would recommend too which is watch Youtube videos.

I like EE better than Splash Mt. I think I feel more secure/safer in the EE seat. And I really love RnR. (Although I do spend most of the ride thinking about the harness coming unlatched and me falling out and dying --DH always complains I am so "final destination" about things).

RnR is very smooth and the ride is over very quickly (too quickly IMHO). The corkscrew is mildly scary, but more fun and not a "tummy tickler" sort of feeling.

I thought EE was tame, but my husband did not like it at all. There is one steeper drop down, but I don't recall freaking out over it. Then again, the photos my hubby took show me making an awful face during that drop.

I pretty much hate Spalsh Mt, I feel lke I will fall out of the car. I will go on Tower of Terror but probably only once per trip, I would ride EE & RnR over & over again. I am not sure about Space Mt, it is tame, but I do feel like I am going to fall out when I go down a hill.

I am so not a rollercaoster chic, but Disney is pretty tame, that is part of what I like about it.

I fear RnR & Splash, I LOVE BTMRR & SM I still get a little nervous to go on, but enjoy it, although I find it a little jerky & the drops get to me after a while.

This last time I tried EE & it wasn't bad at all. I HATE big drops & that feeling in your stomach, but EE's drop never gave me that feeling. Yes, that drop is huge & from looking at it, it looks just as bad as Splash's, but it's not at all. It turns while you drop so you never really get that free falling feeling. Plus, I couldn't believe how quick the drop was over. It was like I saw it coming & so I went to sike myself up & it was already over before I could.

I went on youtube & watched the ride through & saw how short the ride was & then on top of that, the beginning & ending is so nice & peaceful. It's worth a try.

I think if you try it you'll enjoy it- I did! :goodvibes

I'm not a huge fan of the "big drop" on coasters either. I didn't notice this on EE. The imagineers banked the track as you go down the hill, thru the corner, and back up, which really helps reduce the amounts of positive and negative Gs that you encounter. You will (should) feel way more of the stomach/heart wrenching stuff on the drop for Splash Mountain then you would on EE.
