We are thinking of doing EEC as our first runDisney event, but my 4 year old would love to participate. So, I am wondering if anyone can give feedback on the Family Edition? How far do you run? Is it still fun even though it is not at AK? Do they have characters there? Really any description you can would be appreciated!

I have volunteered for it a few times, and everyone seems to have an awesome time. The whole family can get involved in solving the clues, or you can make it the four year old's primary job, since they can't participate in the other activity. If they are most excited about the scavenger part with their family, then heck yes. If they are excited about the running, look and see if there are kids races that day.

You can run the family edition, sure. I meant the challenge part, I'm not sure if they have an age limit on the 5k and scavenger hunt, so if they couldn't participate in that one, then the family event is still awesome.

According to the website today they have dropped the family edition and kids races. I wonder if that does mean this is the last year.

Unfortunately, there is no family edition this year. Since our youngest turned 9 in September, this will be our first and last opportunity to participate.
