I am considering booking our hotel and car rental as a combo with Expedia. The price I was quoted online for both was only $115 more than the cost of the resort alone (Sheraton Vistana Villages). I've never used expedia before and I'm a bit nervous, I've only ever booked directly with a resort or a travel agent. Can I still make room requests (floor, building location)? Any advice from those who have booked with expedia would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We've used Expedia three times and have never had a problem. I've heard that it can be difficult to change things if you need to but that has never come up for us. We have also never made any particular requests. Maybe buy insurance and double check with the destination to make sure all is as it should be if it makes you feel better.

We purchased flight plus hotel accommodations for our January 2012 trip via Expedia, and had no issues at all. Anytime JetBlue changed our flight times, we always received a courtesy call and email.

Just make sure you read all the fine print and know what may happen if things change.

I've used it several times (and other third party booking sites). The only times I've had issues is with flight changes (if a flight is cancelled, for instance, there are certain rules about rebooking and you cant go through the carrier, you have to go through them).

So, beware that if you have issues, the hotel and car rental place may not be able to help you.

But if you're okay with the fine print, then it's all good.

I have used Expedia many times and did not have a problem until this March. I booked a hotel for the stop on our way to Disney and when we got there they did not have our reservation. I had it printed out, they could see I had one. The lady was actually rude about it. So I am not sure if it was Expedia or the hotel themselves.

We have used it several times and have never had an issue. I will say DW use to be nervous using them, but is no longer. Good luck!
