My friend and I are leaving for WDW next Friday and right now it's looking like it will be in the low 70's during the day... Should I bother packing shorts? I was thinking jeans and t shirts during the day, and have a sweatshirt to wrap around my waist in case it gets chilly... and then of course at night I'll need some type of sweatshirt... what do you think? We'll be there Friday-Monday.

Honestly, we're leaving tomorrow and we packed it all from tshirts to sweatshirts from pants to shorts... basically, be prepared for everything. Last time we were there in December we found our best bet was to layer throughout the day. Throw a pair of shorts in just in case and if you have the room.

Winters in FL are always a "mixed" bag. Pack everything, it can be 80 one day and 50 the next. If your used to cold temps 70 may even feel warm to you and with the FL sun it will feel even warmer. Pack the shorts, bathing suit, hat and gloves! :thumbsup2

What do you wear when it's in the 70s in New Jersey? The 70s are the same in Florida. :confused3

If it were me going I would pack shorts for low 70's but also plan for cooler weather. We just got back Tuesday and 5 of the 6 days was mid 80's and the last day was mid 60's so the temperatures can swing a lot this time of year, be prepared for both warm and cool temps.

I'd think short everything during the day, short pants and a light long sleeve shirt after the sun goes down. You might have to layer the long shirt over the short one in the morning and take it off later.

We leave next Fri too and are from MA. 70s for us this time of year is NICE! We are planning on shorts/short sleeves by day and I have sweatshirts/long sleeves for at night and a few pairs of pants/capris should we need them. We are loving the way the forecast looks right now though!

It depends on how cold-natured you are. I'd probably go for shorts and sweat shirts/fleece (or more likely zipper pants (legs zip off to make shorts)) and sweat shirts.

Nope. 70s in Florida feel colder. 60s in Florida feel very cold. (the humidity tends to exacerbate cold)

We will be there next Saturday. The forecast looks great to me so far. Our high temp today was 26 degree. I'll take low 70's or even low 60's. We are so excited about our first Christmas trip to WDW that we won't even notice the cold.

We're leaving next Friday too and we just talked about the fact that we're not going to bother packing shorts, bathing suits, yes...but we're happy with light pants...and Mickey ears Santa Hats!

If you're going to be sitting through Fantasmic or Candlelight Processional, do bring something warm for your lap or to sit on, gloves are good too. I have pictures from previous years and we are dressed very warmly, like our winter jackets came in handy.

We're also leaving on next Friday. Since we're in California, I don't consider low 70s to be that warm. It would have to hit the 80s before I would consider swimming. Remember that high temps. are only during the warmest part of the day. It will still be chilly in the mornings and evenings. I think jeans and short-sleeves during the day will be fine with a fleece or sweatshirt to use as needed. We plan on having our coats and gloves for fireworks and evening shows.

I live in Canada and right now it was below zero. I can't wait for 70 degrees. We are definitely bringing shorts and bathing suits. There is nothing I could do to stop my husband from swimming short of a blizzard and I don't mean blizzard beach. We are also bringing long pants and a sweatshirt. I am bringing my two pairs of zip off pants with me.

What my husband suggested was to bring a knapsack with a change of clothes for the middle of the day, early evening to keep in a locker there to change into (be it hot or cold) if needed.

We just got back. We only wore shorts and tee shirts during the day. If it got cold at night then we put on a sweatshirt. We did pack a few pairs of pants but never wore them. I think it depends on where you are coming from and how cold you like it. Most of the people were in shorts, but many had on jeans too. I would have been too hot in jeans when the sun was out.

It was 8 this morning here with the wind chill. My kids threw on scarfs and gloves and coats and played outside this afternoon for about 30 minutes and it was 20 degrees. 70 will certainly feel warm to us! :thumbsup2

It is 27 in north FL now. I see it is 47 right now in Orlando. BUT it looks like it is warming up to the 70's there after today, definite shorts weather during the day. We don't usually get that warm in the winter in North Fl though. Boo-hoo!

The evenings in the low 50's by the lakes will be cool, especially if it is windy. We were there the weekend before T'giving and people were buying sweatshirts like crazy and it was the low 50's in the evenings, maybe 40's some too. 50 can seem different if it is a typical FL damp 50.

We are going same time and weather looks great :sunny: , I am packing short and pants, t-stirts and sweatshirts, jacket and gloves and hat, and bathing suits. :thumbsup2 Alittle of everything. :rotfl: In afternoon it should be okay to swim :sunny: and at night we can run for the hot tub and run back into condo afterwards. :rotfl2:
Can't wait to go :woohoo:
