expectant cruisers waiting room

a funny thought came to me today as i was day dreaming of being on my cruise this coming summer. these boards are great, we share so much with eachother, thats when i got to thinking. waiting to go on our criuses is like waiting for a birth, we're all so very excited and the anticipation runs high, we buy stuff, coach eachother through excursions, take deep breaths when reading trip reports, heart rates go up when the time is almost near and panic sometimes sets in as we begin to think if we covered all our bases. and then, its time, we scramble to make sure we have everything we'll need and we head off to vacation land with stars in our eyes as we spend the dream filled days adjusting to the fact WE ARE THERE. after we come home we're the proud vacationer of a gigantic photo album, endless footage of our blessed event and never hesitate to show it off to anyone who happens to come through our doors. isn't life great. enjoy

In the movie, Cheaper By The Dozen, the mom was asked how she gave birth to all of those kids. Her answer was "after the 6th, they just walked out"

I'm a guy that definatly experiences the whole "birth/cruise" thing:

>From the absolute joy in the "act" that starts the process off: booking the cruise.
>Preparing the baby's room - packing and making sure we have everything we need.
>The cravings: gotta get the DIS fix whenever I can.
>To the "get this thing out of me" - can't wait for the cruise to get here.
>To the actual pain of delivery (late night last minute packing and that dang cross country flight).
>Then there's the final big push: getting checked in at the terminal.
>And finaly the delivery: through the Mickey ears and onto the ship.
>When we have to leave the ship, there is definatly the post-partum/post-cruise depression.

My labour pains have already started. I will be giving birth to #8 February 12th. I am also expecting #9 in May, # 10 in October and #11 January 2005.

i forgot to list the postpartum depression, thats a fact, nothing being more sadder than having to leave the ship and yes the cravings, chocolate lava cake, I NEED SOME NOW. i must be having twins cause my two cruises are 2 days apart., this will be #'s 6 and 7, i think i'll name them wonder and magic.
