Expanding Toy Story Mania?

Sound stage 1 has been deemed a construction zone to cast members. Wdwmagic and orlando theme parks news have reported this. They moved the frozen from the sound stage so obviously there was a reason for that. It is also to be said that the supposed test of FP only for TSMM is a test for the third track that is supposed to be FP only. The third track is also not going to take then entire sound stage building. The FP only test is going to determine whether a third theater for soarin happens.
So would that leave the other two tracks/theaters for walk ups only? If so, this may not be as bad as I originally thought.

Correct or vice versa I'm not entirely sure but I do know that at least one would be FP only and other(s) standby only.

To quote WDWMagic, "Disney has not yet made any comments or announced an expansion to Toy Story Mania. As always, plans may change and the information presented here should be treated as speculation until officially announced."

I don't see disney officially announcing that a track is being added to TSMM it's not like it's a new attraction or a new experience it's a added capacity.

Rumors abound, one of them is for Pixar-themed rides geared to younger children, to address complaints that there is not enough at DHS for young children to do.

The other rumor abounding is Star Wars.

Hooray. Here comes the Planes-themed Dumbo clone...

I hope you're right, but I don't think anything big is coming. If something big was coming, they would have announced it already. Look how far ahead they announced Avatar.

I think it's going to be a few new themed carnival rides, an expanded TSMM, and stores of course.

New things ARE coming. They may take time to be announced, but new things are coming. Work has begun on the new track but permits have been filed for a two year project in that building alongside the track....what are they going to build that takes two years? Budgets are being worked on, rides are being planned and Disney is in a very serious spending mood whether people realize it or not.

Given Disney's current track record, a two year project can be anything from a new attraction to a bathroom. Timeframe really has no bearing at this point when trying to speculate on the scope of the project.

Again there's no official statement from Disney that Toy Story Mania is being expanded.

And Disney is serious about spending money right now, just not in Orlando.

Some pretty reliable sources over at the WDWMagic boards have said that a "DCA Scale" refurb of DHS is in the final stages of approval.

Correct they are saying possibly even more money than DCA got.

Does this mean DHS is getting a Frozen-themed bathroom area!? The Tangled bathrooms are currently my favorite new attraction!

:rotfl2:

Does Toy Story midway Mania have two tracks now? I thought it had just one and all the talk was about adding a second (duplicate) track to up the capacity.

It looks to me that a second track could be built directly above the first, in the same soundstage building.

No... It has two.

It has two and I don't even know how or why you would build another one above it.

Two fold:

Reduces wait times to allow for more frozen giftshop time (conveniently around the corner)

Allows an increase in capacity to one of only a half dozen or so frontline rides/shows at MGM

Winner, winner, chicken dinner

I understand that. That's why they are adding a third next to it I was just wondering why you would build up versus next too.

That would be a move in direct contradiction to my magic+....like 100%

Contradiction to a certain supposed MMP. Where do they say that the plan for MMP is to have people completely schedule their trips? It would just go against some theories.

It does if overhead reduction/labor reallocation is a goal of next gen.

I'm all ears...you're gonna have a ridiculously tough time convincing me to any level of certainty that its NOT the goal.

Now...there's at least one angle that is 100% to the customers benefit...so I'm not judging...

what could 15% - roughly 10,000 freed up employees...potentially do?
