We are going to Disney World this year...leaving home on November 29th and returning December 6th. My husbands birthday is on Christmas, so I am thinking about surprising him with an early bday/xmas gift with the EDE. I have a couple questions for those that have done it.

Was it worth it? If you buy a package online for 6 laps, are you able to add more laps on once you get there? How long did the whole experience take?

Does it sell out fast? I am wondering if I should book this far ahead or if I can wait. I would like to wait so I can pick a good day for him to go versus going to the parks, but don't want to sell out. Plus I would like to get a time that is early in the day.

Also, does it rain a lot in early December? I saw on the website that you will have to reschedule if it rains, which I would hate to do. Sorry for all the questions!

It was pretty unforgettable. It was my first time around a racetrack in a true sports car, and I hope to do it again in a few years. The italian cars are, for me, not worth almost 2x the cost of the Porsche/Audi/Nissan because there is so much going on quickly, you barely notice/appreciate the car.

Yes, they are happy to do that. Plenty of add-ons and upgrades.

Time in the car goes by quickly.. 20 minutes? The entire thing was about 1.5 hours including waiting and watching others before & after, photos, classroom lecture, etc.

The more affordable cars probably sell out more quickly. Just a hunch.

The employees are friendly, and they'd probably help you decide based on current demand levels.

First off, I sympathize with your husband, I'm a Christmas Baby as well, not the best day to have a birthday!

I treated my DH to this as a birthday gift back in 2012, while we were still dating. He liked it so much he proposed 2 days later

Joking aside, he still raves about the experience. I found a deal for it on a website, so keep an eye out for specials. As I'm a DVC member, they added on additional laps (I think they now offer percentage off for DVC members). There were also other upgrade options when you sign in. I think the whole experience including training took 2 hours, but I think they told us to budget for 3.
