Hey guy dis-ers, what would you think of the Ferrari driving experience as part of your wedding present? Cool idea, or would you rather have something tangible?

I guess it depends on how much of a car nut I am. I'm actually a pretty big car nut - my first car was a Porsche - but I'd probably rather have something that relates to both of us.

I'd think it was stupid. I'd never say that to someone who gave it to me, but that's what I'd think. I wouldn't go and drive it, either.

I am totally NOT a car person and couldn't care less about automotive extravagance.

For a person who likes that kind of stuff, but can't afford it, it would probably be a good gift.

Have to agree with Kaligal on this. You really need to know both people very well before you consider this type of wedding gift. Kind of like giving sky diving lessons as a gift.
If someone had 'gifted' my DH and I with a fast-car driving experience as a wedding present, I would have been looking to return the thing as fast as possible (do they even do returns--you need to check this out), because I am absolutely terrified of fast driving. My DH hates driving in any form, he drives because he has to, not because he likes it.

This is for my future husband who loves sports cars and always jokes about me buying him a Ferrari. I don't know what else to get him because he won't wear a watch. He's big in to electronics but those become obsolete so quick.

As a present to your new husband, I think it will be truly appreciated. The others are all looking at this as a present to another couple, not from the wife to her husband. If he is a car nut and will probably like most of us regular people never be able to drive such a car then the experience will be one he truly appreciates, I think. I think experiences can be much more appreciated and enjoyed and remembered then getting "stuff" Stuff tends to get obsolete, or break, or you just don't really need it, but great experiences you will remember for a lifetime.

Mike
